This week is National Blood Week. The NHS blood stocks are running low and it's looking for one million regular donors in England to help increase them.
Why not register as a donor today so you can make your first appointment to donate by the end of the week?
Currently 2% of the population supply all the blood for NHS patients. Last year just under 800,000 people donated. If a million people gave blood regularly, the national blood stock would be closer to meeting the demand for life-saving treatments.
Want to help tackle loneliness for Loneliness Awareness Week and beyond? Why not look at ways you can help raise funds for BEfriend, who support people in Hounslow experiencing loneliness.
It’s a great opportunity for schools, employers or individuals to get involved and help our community.
You can host anything from a non-uniform day to a sponsored bike ride, with all the proceeds going to help Hounslow residents experiencing loneliness to get a vital lifeline.
Measles cases are rising across the England, according to the UK Health Security Agency. It has warned that people travelling for summer holidays will likely see cases increase further.
Cases have predominantly been in unvaccinated children aged 10 years and under, with ongoing outbreaks in a number of regions. London has seen almost half of all cases in the past four weeks.
If your child hasn't received both doses of their MMR vaccination, speak to your GP about making an appointment to get them vaccinated and protect them against serious illness.
