Next Friday (April 4) is Walk to Work Day. Hounslow residents are encouraged to incorporate walking into their commute and earn rewards through BetterPoints.
The app records, rewards, and measures activities such as walking, cycling and wheeling. Users can also earn rewards by engaging in wider healthy lifestyle initiatives, including weight management programmes and stop-smoking support sessions.
Points earned in the app can then be redeemed for shopping vouchers or donated to local and national charities.
The Council has now published its Annual Public Health Report. It explores the Public Health team and Borough Based Partnership’s work to reduce health inequalities across the borough.
Health inequalities happen when people face worse health outcomes than others due to where they live or their circumstances. Working to eliminate these differences makes Hounslow a healthier and fairer borough for everyone.
Over the next few months, Learn Hounslow is offering several courses designed to improve health and wellbeing, including aerobics, yoga, gentle yoga, painting and drawing, pilates and cooking school courses.
Whether you want to improve your strength and flexibility, learn yoga techniques to reduce stress or understand more about the principles of healthy cooking, there is a course for you.

Your comments will inform the final Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment, which will be published by Wednesday, 1 October 2025.
