How to help rough sleepers access support during severe weather
As temperatures in Hounslow are expected to fall below freezing over the next few days, the Mayor of London has activated the Severe Weather Emergency Protocol (SWEP). It will be in place until Monday, 3 March.
During this period, emergency accommodation is available to make sure that people can be brought off the streets and away from the cold. If you know someone who is sleeping rough in Hounslow, or if you see someone sleeping rough, you can help them by referring them to Streetlink so they can access the support they need.
You can also use this service to get help for yourself if you are sleeping rough in Hounslow.

Online career event for unemployed young people
The Council is hosting a free online career event to support unemployed young people and those at risk of becoming unemployed in their next steps. It will be held on its YouTube channel on Tuesday, 4 March from 4.30pm to 6.30pm.
The event will feature on-demand videos of the Council’s service teams - Hounslow Connexions, Work Hounslow, DFN Project SEARCH, and partner organisations.
It will offer career resources, support and advice for young people aged 16 to 25 who are not in education, employment and training (NEET). It's also for those at risk of becoming NEET and parents, carers, and professionals supporting young people.
Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment 2025
Every three years Hounslow's Health and Wellbeing Board is required to produce a Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment (PNA) to identify gaps in current services and improvements that could be made in service provision.
A draft PNA has been produced taking into account the responses from the survey earlier this year. A consultation on the draft document is now underway. Residents are encouraged to review this and comment on whether it reflects Hounslow's pharmaceutical needs through the link below.
Your comments will inform the final Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment, which will be published by 1 October 2025.

At this spring’s round of Area Forums we’re inviting people to contribute to the next Hounslow Health and Wellbeing strategy. You can also talk to local councillors, council staff and people from local organisations, about anything affecting you or your neighbourhood.

Breast screening saves lives
Breast cancer is the most common type of cancer in women in England. The chance of getting breast cancer increases as you get older. Regular breast screening is one of the best ways to spot a cancer that is too small to feel or see yourself.
Anyone registered with a GP as female aged between 50-71 will be invited for NHS breast screening every three years. You will automatically get your first invite by post between the age of 50 and 53.
Finding cancer early can make it more likely that treatment will be successful. Breast screening can detect cancer long before you can even feel it. So when you're invited, save the date, it could save your life.
