Breast cancer is the most common type of cancer in women in England. The chance of getting breast cancer increases as you get older. Regular breast screening is one of the best ways to spot a cancer that is too small to feel or see yourself.
Anyone registered with a GP as female aged between 50-71 will be invited for NHS breast screening every three years. You will automatically get your first invite by post between the age of 50 and 53.
Finding cancer early can make it more likely that treatment will be successful. Breast screening can detect cancer long before you can even feel it. So when you're invited, save the date, it could save your life.
The next Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) families evening session will take place on Wednesday, 5 March, online at 6pm.
Participants can join this event to explore ways to reduce isolation, develop independence, and discover employment opportunities, including local internships with DFN Project SEARCH.
Grace Café (85 Bedfont Lane, Feltham) is the latest to sign up to the Council's Healthier Catering Commitment (HCC). This is a London-wide voluntary scheme helping businesses to offer healthier food options.
The HCC helps businesses to make small changes to the way they cook and serve food and improve their customer’s health. Adriana, the owner of Grace Café, is passionate about offering her customers a range of delicious and healthy choices.
If you're going out to eat or ordering takeaway, make the healthier choice and order from a food outlet that is signed up to HCC. If you run a food business, find out how to sign up for the HCC by clicking the link below.
There are many pieces of equipment, such as walking frames, crutches, shower chairs, commodes, and more, that are no longer needed or used by recipients.
You can return these items so they can be recycled and passed on to another resident in need. Small items of equipment can be dropped off at the Health Outreach Team (HOT) shop in the Treaty Centre, or at the HOT bus. See opening times for the shop and locations for the bus here.
Alternatively, you can request a free collection directly from your home by contacting Medequip on 020 8750 1580.

This spring, NHS North West London wants to hear residents' views on planned care. This refers to non-emergency healthcare, such as hospital outpatient appointments or planned surgery.
To help improve waiting times, fair access and patient experience, they need to consider the changing needs of people in north west London, the increasing number of people who are seeking care, and how to tackle the unfair differences in waiting times and care experiences.
You can share your views through this short survey. Residents are also invited to join the virtual Residents’ Forum on Wednesday, 5 March 2025, 6pm - 7.30pm. Key items to be discussed include planned care and NHS waiting times. Please register here.
