Council to invest in Citizens Advice Hounslow
 Last week, Hounslow Council’s Cabinet approved £325,000 funding a year for Citizens Advice Hounslow for the next five years, amounting to more than £1.6 million.
The service, which has been supporting local residents since 1939, has seen a 60% spike in demand over the last year.

Apprentice Job Fair at Hounslow House
 On Thursday, 13 February, residents of all ages seeking apprenticeships, training or upskilling opportunities can find out what's available at the Apprenticeships Marketplace job fair.
As part of the National Apprenticeships Week (10-16 February) celebration, the event will take place on the sixth floor of Hounslow House, between 10am and 3pm. More than 20 national and local employers will be in attendance, including the West London NHS Trust, National Physical Laboratory, London Fire Brigade, Marriott, Metropolitan Police, training and education providers, and more.
Wise advice for women at Feltham Library
 Local charity Shewise is launching the Women and Girls' Health Hub today (Friday, 7 February) in Feltham Library. It will be a safe and welcoming space for women to learn about their physical, mental and emotional health.
Throughout the year, a range of different health topics related to women will be explored, such as understanding periods, menstrual health disorders, ovarian cancer, and more. Guest speakers from the NHS and local health services will also be available to support your wellbeing journey.

 Families with SEND children across the borough can find advice and guidance at our regular SEND Surgeries - the cornerstone of Local Offer Live events.
The next one is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, 11 February from 11.30am to 1.30pm at Feltham Assembly Hall (details above).

By-elections in Brentford
 A Notice of Election has been published for Syon & Brentford Lock and Brentford East wards. This triggers the beginning of the nomination process, meaning candidates can now submit their nomination to run in the associated by-elections.
If you live in either ward you can register to vote and check you have the right photo ID now.

Starting in February 2025, Learn Hounslow is offering a range of qualification courses, with initial assessments taking place in January and February. If you are 19 years or older and interested in enrolling, this is a fantastic opportunity to develop skills that will set you up for success.
