Cabinet Question Time postponed
 The Council has postponed the Cabinet Question Time event that due to take place on Thursday, 30 January at the Gtech Community Stadium in Brentford. This is because of the upcoming Brentford by-election.
Details of the next Cabinet Question Time event will be on the Council's website soon.
Join the Family Hubs Roadshow
 Hounslow Family Hubs are going on tour with the Family Hubs Roadshow, in collaboration with the Community Hubs to help families discover a range of support services available for children and young people (aged 0-19, or up to 25 for those with special educational needs and disabilities).
Come along to the first event in the series on Friday, 31 January from 10am-2pm at the Community Hub, Brentford Library, 11F Boston Manor Road, TW8 8DW. Meet local experts and professionals offering advice on parenting, mental health, speech and language support, and much more. You’ll also have the opportunity to connect with other families in your community and explore resources tailored to your needs.
More locations will be announced for March, May and June 2025.
Deputy Mayor Howard Dawber tours Hounslow
The Council welcomed Howard Dawber, London’s Deputy Mayor for Business and Growth, to explore the borough’s ambitious plans for regeneration, sustainable growth, and innovation.
From the Golden Mile, evolving into a hub for creative industries, advanced manufacturing, clean energy, and Future Feltham, the visit highlighted Hounslow’s bold vision for the future.
Discussions also focused on the West London Orbital, a critical infrastructure project connecting Hounslow to Old Oak Common and unlocking housing, jobs, and economic opportunities.
Key partners like Sky and Brompton Technology showcased how innovation and local investment are helping Hounslow thrive as London’s Media Heartland
Be Air Aware and protect yourself against air pollution
A new campaign by the Council, called 'Be Air Aware', explains the health risks of air pollution in Hounslow, who is most affected, how to monitor air pollution levels, and how to take steps to protect yourself and your family.
The Be Air Aware website is full of great advice on how to minimise any harm to your health, plus information on peer support groups in the borough to contact if you are concerned about a related health condition.
As part of the campaign, the Council is encouraging you to sign up for free airText alerts to check the air pollution levels where you are, allowing you to make informed decisions about your activities and health.
Help us shape the SEND Travel Assistance Post 16 policy
 If your child currently receives School Travel Assistance and is aged 13 and above, the Council need your help to co-produce the future of this vital service.
Share your thoughts on the changing post-16 travel policy. Your feedback will help shape this essential service.

New SEND Local Offer website now live
 The brand new SEND Local Offer website launched this week and provides advice, guidance and support for families with children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
Produced with the help of the Hounslow community, including families and professionals, it is a vital resource for anyone working with children with SEND.
Family Hubs Oral Health Day
The NHS Dental Team will be visiting the Family Hub in Brentford (North Road, Brentford, TW8 0BJ) on Tuesday, 18 February, 9:30am-2pm to deliver the free “Healthy Teeth, Happy Smiles” programme.
The session will be held in-person and parents can ask questions related to children’s teeth, followed by application of fluoride varnish (Duraphat) to children’s teeth by a qualified oral health promotion team.

Land management and arboriculture bootcamp
 Would you like to work outdoors and manage Hounslow's natural spaces? Join a free four-week green skills course, funded by the Mayor of London’s Skills Bootcamp for Londoners programme. The closing date for application is Monday, 10 February.
You'll gain work experience and get a guaranteed interview for people who are currently not working and looking for entry level roles in the green space industry.

 The Licensing Policy consultation is now open and runs until Monday, 10 March. Have your say on:
- Alcohol licensing (pubs, eateries and off licences)
- Late night takeaways and restaurants
- Music and entertainment venues
Your views will feed into the Council's review of its licensing policy for 2025-2030.
