What would you ask the Cabinet?
Tessa, Head Teacher at The Cedars Primary School, Cranford, submitted a question about investment in the mental health of primary aged children and their families.
Come along to the Council's public meeting at the Brentford Gtech Stadium, 30 Jan, from 6pm, and ask the Cabinet almost anything. You could spark an improvement to your neighbourhood and make local people happier.

If you miss the deadline, you may find your options limited, with fewer schools having available spaces by the time your application is reviewed.
The Hounslow Admissions Team is available to provide guidance and support throughout the application process. You can contact them on 020 8583 2711 or via email at admissions@hounslow.gov.uk.
Flu cases are high - make sure to get vaccinated
![People sneezing](https://content.govdelivery.com/attachments/fancy_images/UKHOUNSLOW/2024/12/10663272/5931270/sneezing_crop.jpg)
Flu cases have risen sharply over the past month as the temperature drops below freezing. Hospitals are currently experiencing pressure from treating a range of viruses and demand for NHS services has increased due to the current cold snap.
To take the pressure off local hospitals, if you or a family member has a cold or flu, get well at home and help prevent the spread to others. If you need help or advice with your symptoms NHS 111 can assess and direct you to the right place for you. More advice on staying well this winter can be found here.

Support for vulnerable residents during power cuts
Power cuts can be worrying or difficult, especially during the winter period. However, there is extra help and support available during a power cut. Registering for Priority Services can help support residents when they need it most.
Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks want to grow the number of people on their Priority Services Register in Hounslow. Data shows that a significant number of eligible residents have not signed up to this free service, regardless of who their electricity supplier is.

Borough of Hounslow Place Promotion workshops
![place promotion workshops](https://content.govdelivery.com/attachments/fancy_images/UKHOUNSLOW/2025/01/10835065/place-branding-comms_original.png) Hounslow has many things to promote and be proud of. There’s a great opportunity to better tell the story of the borough, its town centres and its communities in a way which reaches more people.
The Council is working with thinkingplace, a leading brand and marketing specialist, to help co-create a story and brand with local communities and partners who have a stake in the borough. Creating a clear, compelling and consistent way of promoting Hounslow will:
- Help build local pride, confidence and community cohesion
- Position Hounslow more prominently as a place to live, work and visit
- Highlight our distinctive places and cultural landmarks
- Shine a light on the opportunities available
- Attract investment
- Attract new and support existing businesses
This is your opportunity to give us your views about Hounslow and its town centres. Tell us what makes you proud, what else you feel and how would you like to see our borough develop.
There are four workshops that will cover the Borough of Hounslow and its four town centres – Brentford, Chiswick, Hounslow and Feltham. You can attend any of the workshops and, though each will have a section focusing on a town centre, you will have an opportunity to discuss any part of the borough.
Click the events link here for more information and to book.
If you can’t make one of the workshops, you can give your views in an online survey
