It highlighted improvements in the local system for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
Two residents recognised for getting Hounslow cycling
The Council celebrates two Hounslow residents, Samra Said and Nevin Sunderji, who have been recognised for their outstanding contributions to the community.
Samra won this year’s BBC London Unsung Hero Award for all her work with Cycle Sisters, in her role as chair and ride leader for Hounslow. She has supported hundreds of women into cycling by setting up new cycle groups in Hounslow and Ealing. Watch Samra receive her award on BBC London News.
And Nevin was recognised by the 100 Women in Cycling UK for her work with Cycle Sisters. She is also a ride leader for Hounslow, using her skills as a qualified cycle instructor, positivity, and encouragement to teach adults and children to ride bikes.
Cycle Sisters is an award-winning charity that has helped to transform the lives of many Muslim women in Hounslow by empowering them to cycle together, improving their physical health and wellbeing, and building a community in the process.
