The Council and its partners are providing several spaces this winter where residents can keep warm and keep bills down, while at the same time accessing help, support, and the opportunity to learn new skills.
There will be a variety of offers available at different locations across the borough, ranging from community hubs to churches and libraries, where residents can access classes, free wi-fi, have a hot drink or food, or simply read a book.
Brentford FC Community Sports Trust is running an Introduction to Healthy Lifestyles course from Thursday, 9 January 2025.
This 12-week course is designed for adults who are receiving or seeking support for their mental health. The course will explore key aspects of a healthy lifestyle including habit creation, caring for physical and mental health, and making sustainable lifestyle changes.
Sessions will run weekly from 11am to 12pm on Thursdays at the Brentford Football Club Community Stadium Hub, TW8 0SB. You can sign up or refer someone you know below.

As we head into winter, local hospitals and GPs are very busy, which means longer waiting times.
Pharmacies across Hounslow are a great alternative if you want immediate treatment and advice for common health conditions, with no GP appointment or prescription needed.
Going there first will benefit you and take pressure off our emergency hospital departments and GP services, which can feel the strain at this time of year.
Highly trained pharmacists can assess and treat patients for several common health conditions.

North West London NHS Trust would like to hear your views on palliative care through a consultation called Compassionate Care for All.
There is a difference between palliative care and end-of-life care. End-of-life care is a specific type of care for people nearing the final stages of their life. It aims to ensure comfort, dignity and support, managing symptoms and providing emotional and practical help.
General palliative care is care provided by professionals such as GPs, district nurses or care home staff and can carry on for years.
The consultation is an opportunity for residents to give their views on how to improve these services in north west London.
Between now and Christmas, Hounslow's Health Outreach Team (HOT) will be out with Jade Pharmacy delivering free flu and Covid-19 vaccinations to the heart of your community, along with the usual health checks and information.
HOT will be at the following locations across Hounslow soon:
- Wednesday, 4 December – Hounslow High Street – 10am to 4pm
- Thursday, 5 December – Chiswick Sainsbury's – 10am to 4pm
- Saturday, 7 December - Brabazon Shopping Parade – 10am to 4pm
