Hounslow Lights - this Saturday
Hounslow Lights is coming to Lampton Park on Saturday, 26 October 2024, between 4pm and 9pm. This will be the Council's third annual fireworks event in the borough, and there will be lots to do.
Beach’s Funfair will be present with a mega-funfair with many thrilling rides, there will be arts and crafts, face and henna painting, and storytelling. A stunning fireworks display will be set to themed music to celebrate Halloween, Diwali and Bonfire Night.
Final Community Safety session at Holy Trinity Church
The Council's Community Provisions team continue to host a series of sessions on community safety specifically designed for people with learning disabilities, including autism.
The events are a great opportunity for attendees to learn, share, and have fun while discussing important safety topics. Although they are tailored to this group, we would be happy to welcome other residents who could benefit from the sessions.
The final event will take place at Hounslow Trinity Church from 10.30am to 12.30pm on Monday, 28 October: Technology Safety and Building a Support Network.

All-ability cycling sessions at Inwood Park
The Council is inviting cycling fans to the relaunch of the ability-cycling sessions at Inwood Park, with an exciting event taking place on Wednesday, 30 October, between 10am and 2pm. The day will be packed with fun activities including Dr Bike surgeries, a smoothie bike, and cycling sessions, all for free.
The all-ability cycling sessions are designed to be inclusive and accessible to everyone, particularly for those with disabilities. These sessions, which will run on Saturday mornings, offer a fantastic opportunity to enjoy cycling in a friendly and supportive environment.
Join us for Housing Options Day
With a shortage of Council housing in the borough, the Council is hosting a Housing Options event so people can talk to housing officers and explore what alternatives are available. This free event takes place on Thursday, 31 October at Lampton School, Lampton Avenue, Hounslow, between 10am and 4pm.
Photography competition for Five Ways to Wellbeing
As part of Five Ways to Wellbeing Take Notice week, the Council is hosting a photography competition. Participants will have a chance to win one of four £50 Amazon vouchers.
To enter, email your photograph to communications@hounslow.gov.uk with the subject “Five ways photo competition”. Please include your full name and a few words about why you have taken this photo in your email. Make sure to submit your entry by Sunday, 3 November.
Volunteering in Hounslow parks
The Council and the Lampton Services Countryside team are running a range of volunteering sessions and collaborating with volunteers from the borough to manage habitats across Hounslow.
These activities include but not limited to litter picking, Green Gyms (group conservation sessions), tree planting, bramble bashing, habitat surveying and more.

Shaping the future of culture in Hounslow
The Council is launching a new Culture Strategy and it is asking residents from across the borough to give their views on how to make Hounslow a thriving cultural destination.
The launch of this survey aims to get a wide range of views on the borough’s arts and culture events, activities and venues, and what can be done to improve what’s on offer.
Along with the online survey, the Council will also be running a series of engagement workshops in locations across the borough, as well as evening sessions online.
