Hounslow Lights
Hounslow Lights is coming to Lampton Park on Saturday, 26 October from 4pm-9pm.
Our partners for the event - Beach’s Funfair - will be present with a mega-funfair with many thrilling rides, we’ll have stallholders, activities to take part in, arts and crafts, face and henna painting, storytelling as well as a stunning fireworks display set to themed music to celebrate Halloween, Diwali and Bonfire Night.
No registration required, this event is free to attend.
October Half Term Activities
Halloween Holiday Club with Tash and Hounslow Arts Centre
Wednesday 30 and Thursday 31 October
(6-13 year olds) 10am to 2pm
4 varied hours of mindful, outdoor, nature related fun with a slightly spooky performance arts twist! Children will enjoy learning about nature, doing outdoor craft activities (with indoor option) and honing their performance skills for effective trick or treating! Tickets £25 per child per day. Booking via Eventbrite. Numbers limited.
NEW Boston Manor Park Nature Trails launch
Tuesday 29 October, 2-3pm
Two NEW trails for Boston Manor Park visitors to enjoy! One is an audio trail and the other a paper based Wildlife Trail. Come on a guided tour or pick up copies to do it with your family! Meeting point is by the hub. FREE.

Halloween-themed Pamper Day on Friday, 1 November 2024, 11am to 4pm at Acton Gardens Community Centre, Munster Court, London, W3 8UU
This event, designed specifically for young women, is all about self-care, creativity, and empowerment, providing a fantastic way to end their half-term holidays.
The day will be filled with well-being activities, arts and crafts, career advice, and more, offering the perfect opportunity for girls aged 13-18, to connect, relax, and have fun in a supportive environment.
Guest speakers, Nina Lewis and Rashida Dowding, will be leading hands-on workshops in nail technology and lash artistry.

WeMatter
WeMatter is a totally digital service providing specialist support to children and young people aged 8–17 years old, who have been affected by domestic abuse. WeMatter delivers the CYP Domestic Abuse Recovery Toolkit, which offers a range of activities and discussions informed by Trauma Focused Cognitive Behaviour Therapy. This group programme is designed to help children and young people understand their own experiences, develop healthy coping strategies, increase levels of safety and achieve positive future relationships
WeMatter is a voluntary service designed to support children and young people in a group work setting with others who may have historically shared a similar experience to them. The WeMatter group work programme will be facilitated by two specially trained CYP Programme Facilitators over the course of eight weeks. We offer a varied timetable of courses available to children and young people, which they are able to access at home or during the school day. Each virtual support session lasts approximately one hour and is fully accessible via Zoom. For the safety of the group participants, it is essential for each to have their camera on and access the course using a computer, laptop or smart device.
WeMatter is currently being delivered across England. This programme is not suitable for children and young people who are experiencing ongoing domestic abuse. If WeMatter is not suitable, we can look to refer you on to a more appropriate service.
WeMatter is open Monday – Friday, 09:00 – 17:00. Contact can be made via the WeMatter support line and WeMatter email inbox. WeMatter accepts referrals from any professionals and parents/carers.

Upcoming Parenting Programmes
Open for referrals for September & November 2024
Targeted Early Help & Intervention team have shared the details of the upcoming Autumn parenting programs.
123 Magic is a parenting/behaviour management programme for parents and carers of children aged 2-12 who have been diagnosed with ADHD or who display challenging behaviour. It is a 5 week online programme.
The plan for 123 Magic is to be run on:
November 2024 cohort: 14 November 2024 to 12 December 2024 - Thursdays 10am to 12pm

Surviving Your Adolescents is a programme for parents of children over the age of 12 aimed at increasing the parents’ and carers’ ability to communicate with their young people and to reduce the risks that the young people face. It is a 5 week online programme.
The plan for Surviving Your Adolescents is to be run on:
November 2024 cohort: 12 November 2024 to 10 December 2024 - Tuesdays 6pm to 8pm

Family Hubs
Three Family Hubs in Hounslow, Feltham, and Brentford are providing advice and support closer to home, for families with children aged 0-19, or up to 25 years old if they have special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), from the Council and its partners.
Opening Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, these hubs will offer a range of joined-up services, focusing particularly on parenting support, infant feeding support, early language support and perinatal mental health support.
Hounslow families can also take part in free online resources developed by Family Hub in partnership with health experts. The Solihull Approach course is to nurture emotional health and wellbeing of children aged 0-19. The ’50 Things to Do before You’re Five’ website and mobile app is a menu of fun, affordable ideas for play and learning for parents and children aged 0-4.
