Hounslow Gets Digital featuring the Adult Social Care Info Shop and much more
You are invited to ‘Get Digital’ at Hounslow House on Tuesday, 15 October. Providers and services will be on hand emphasising the importance of online accessibility and to give different perspectives on technology.
The Community Information Team will be joined by the Adult Social Care Pop-up Information Shop, the Falls Prevention team, a guest from the Metropolitan Police, the Health Outreach Team, and other digital services and providers at this drop-in event.
Hounslow Gets Digital forms a part of the Council’s wider digital inclusion and upskilling strategy. The event provides digital services to the community and to help residents get online safely, securely, and efficiently.

Get a free three-day Lampton Leisure pass as part of Five Ways to Wellbeing
From Monday you can get a free three-day Lampton Leisure pass, giving you access to all their facilities including gyms and pools, as part of our Five Ways to Wellbeing 'Be Active' week. Just turn up to any leisure centre during the week and mention the Five Ways to Wellbeing campaign to claim your free pass.
The Five Ways to Wellbeing are five simple steps you can take to feel happier. For five weeks the Council’s Public Health team is focusing on one of the five ways per week, hosting events that bring them to life, and letting you know about local services and opportunities that will help you to connect with the week’s theme.
Launching Stay Steady and Active - helping over 60s to live well and prevent falls
Residents aged 60 plus are invited to the Hounslow Stay Steady and Active launch, where they will learn ways to help increase activity levels, test balance abilities, and reduce the risks of falls.
The event is on Tuesday, 22 October, 10am - 1pm at Hanworth Air Park Leisure Centre, Uxbridge Rd, W13 5EG.
There will be a range of free activities, health and community stalls, health checks, plus a slipper exchange on the day. All activities have been designed by health and community partners to offer something fun for the over 60s.
Bowling Balls rolls back to Trinity Church
Back in the Summer, the Council's Community Provisions team ran a very successful and engaging men's cancer awareness event called Bowling Balls for men with autism, learning disabilities and related conditions.
Next month, Bowling Balls returns to Holy Trinity Church, Hounslow on Monday, 4 November from 11am - 1pm. This event will cover a new men's health topic, fitness and nutrition. There is no need to book in advance, just turn up on the day.
The event takes place during Movember, the men's health campaign that asks people to unite to tackle men's mental health, suicide, prostate cancer and testicular cancer.

Work Hounslow's Job Fair for Women
On Tuesday, 15 October, Work Hounslow will host a Job Fair for Women at Feltham Community Hub (TW14 9DN) from 10am - 1pm for residents aged 18 or above.
London Living Wage employers and organisations, including Heathrow Employment and Skills Academy, West Middlesex University Hospital and West London NHS Trust will share information on job vacancies, apprenticeships, training and volunteering opportunities.
Work Hounslow employment advisors and the Hounslow Connexions team will also provide free career advice.
SEND Surgery returns to Isleworth
The SEND Surgery returns to Isleworth’s Redlees Play Centre, TW7 6DW, on Wednesday, 16 October from 10am - 12.15pm, providing guidance, info and support for children and young people living with special educational needs and disability (SEND) and their families.
Whether you want to know more about SEND in general or have a query about your child’s SEND needs or EHCP, come and join the surgery to find out more about the local offer for families.

Hounslow Lights is back
Hounslow Lights is coming to Lampton Park on Saturday, 26 October 2024, between 4pm and 9pm. This will be the Council's third annual fireworks event in the borough, and there will be lots to do.
Beach’s Funfair will be present with a mega-funfair with many thrilling rides, there will be arts and crafts, face and henna painting, and storytelling. A stunning fireworks display will be set to themed music to celebrate Halloween, Diwali and Bonfire Night.
Set Ready Free Film and TV training
Aged 18 or over and living in Kensington and Chelsea, Kingston or Hounslow? Join a free course taking place at Rose Theatre, Kingston upon Thames, KT1 1HL on Monday, 11 November and Tuesday, 12 November from 10am-4pm.
The upcoming free Set Ready training course equips you with the confidence, knowledge and skills to work on a film/TV set as a Location Marshal.

Have Your Say on the Council Tenancy Strategy
The Council is proposing important changes to the Council Tenancy Strategy that could affect tenants and their families, and wants your feedback.
Whether you are a current tenant, are on the Housing Register or live near council homes, your voice matters. The consultation is open until Wednesday, 13 November and you can participate online through the Let’s Talk Hounslow platform.
Alternatively, housing engagement officers will be engaging with tenants in person to discuss and support the changes.
