Nikki & JD - Fireside Saturday, 31 August
As part of the ongoing Summer of Culture Programme, the award-winning circus company Nikki & JD, in collaboration with Lost Dog, have created an outdoor show that combines circus, dance, theatre and live music to re-enact the original horror story. Dark, comic and physically dangerous, this is a modern re-telling of that ancient epic, Beowulf.
This will take place at Bell Square, the exciting outdoor arts space in the heart of the town centre that brings together Hounslow’s communities and attracts visitors to enjoy free outdoor cultural performances, which is celebrating its tenth anniversary.

Riding high with Cycleway 9
It’s time to celebrate another great milestone for cycling, walking and wheeling in Hounslow with the opening of the latest section of Cycleway 9.
The new route from Watermans Park to Alexandra Road is now open for people to enjoy.
This section is the latest in a series of Cycleway 9 connections in Hounslow, which include Chiswick High Road between Chiswick Lane and Heathfield Terrace, and Watermans Park to Kew Bridge.
The project is a partnership between Hounslow Council, Transport for London (TfL) and Hounslow Highways.
Cycleway 9 has been created to encourage more people to get around under their own steam, whether on foot, through pedal power, pram-pushing and other wheeled ways of travelling.

Learn about community gardening at Lampton Park
Lampton Park Community Garden is running pop-up workshops where residents can take part in plug planting, seed sowing, learn the benefits of planting herbs, and share their growing knowledge.
Supported by Cultivate London and Urban Trailblazers, the sessions are a great introduction to this wonderful community space.
The community garden is situated by the tennis courts, at one of the former rose beds. Dedicated residents have been giving up their Saturdays for three months to create and develop the garden, allowing many herbs and vegetables to come to harvest and collecting seeds for future planting.
If you’re interested in getting involved yourself, please get in touch at nabeela.mulbocus@hounslow.gov.uk.
