If your child is starting school this September, please check that they are up to date with their MMR vaccines, which protect them from measles.
Children playing together at school can mean bugs get passed round easily. Measles is a growing issue among small children and can have significant impacts including hospitalisation. Getting the MMR immunisation is the best way to tackle this and keep your child healthy.
The Council has put together advice on getting your child vaccinated, and a range of other school readiness topics including oral health and toilet routines, that you can read by clicking the button below.

From 1 September, pregnant women will be offered the RSV vaccine to protect them and their baby against lung infections that can develop into bronchitis.
The vaccine should be offered around the time of the 28-week antenatal appointment. If you haven’t heard by this stage, contact your maternity service or GP practice to make an appointment for your vaccination.
Having the vaccine in week 28 helps mothers-to-be build antibodies to pass on to their baby before birth.
