Stay safe and report anything suspicious
Over the last few days and through these challenging times, it is heartening to see communities coming together, standing firm against hate and division. This spirit of unity is what makes Hounslow a remarkable place to live and work.
As we head into the weekend, we urge everyone to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity. If you need to contact the police, please call 101 for non-emergencies or 999 if it's an emergency.
Let's continue to support one another and stay strong.
Celebrating stories of Fruit

Fruit, an event featuring in Hounslow's Storytelling Festival and part of the Summer of Culture programme, will take place on Hounslow High Street on Saturday, 10 August, between 12pm and 4pm.
The event will celebrate stories of different people from across the world and their cultures. Each story will embody the essence of banana, papaya, mango or apple. Look for the ‘fruit stall’ on the high street to begin your journey.

Constructing career insights
DFN Project Search interns and a beneficiary of the Council's Employment Opportunities Service, that supports young people aged 18 plus with a disability to find and retain paid employment, enjoyed an insightful day at CField Construction Company’s head office in central London recently.
They had the chance to learn about the company, the construction industry in general, and the various roles within the organisation.
If you are a young person who is interested in securing a place on the DFN Project SEARCH programme for 2024-2025, time is running out, so please click on the link below to complete the application form ASAP. The form can be completed on behalf of the potential intern.
Summer on the Green comes to Chiswick
The Council’s Housing Engagement Team is bringing its summer roadshow to Edensor Gardens in Chiswick on Wednesday, 14 August.
Tenants can speak with housing teams about issues that matter to them, take part in fun activities, socialise and learn more about the range of Council and other agencies’ services to promote health, wellbeing and safer, thriving communities.
The Housing Engagement team can also provide details on how tenants can get involved and work with the team and the Council to improve the Housing service.
Light refreshments are offered for free. Come along from 1pm to 5pm.
Live performance on Bell Square
A free theatre performance, Rapid Life Movement, will take place on Hounslow Bell Square on Saturday, 17 August, 1pm - 7pm. The audience will learn about the combat, resistance and resilience that is driving transformation, as well as risk and constraint, and our relationship to the living and the dead.
Build it and they will come
There are still places available for a newly-developed nine-month architecture traineeship, Build The Way (BTW), in London's architecture sector.
Established as a trial in 2021, the programme, which starts in October, welcomes applications from young people in Hounslow aged over 18 and not in formal education. It aims to help under-represented groups enter the architecture profession in a more tenable and financially-feasible way.
Super Sports Day
To celebrate the Olympics, Hounslow's Super Sports Day will take place on Saturday, 24 August at Heston Park, TW5 0LG, between 11am and 4pm.
The day will be filled with fun games and activities, as well as taster sessions for sports. Residents can also meet fitness and health providers and enter some retro races to keep up the competitive spirit. Healthy refreshments will be available, so join us and help get Hounslow fit.
Have your say on polling station locations
|
|
Tell us if you are happy with the location of your local polling station, or if somewhere else would work better for you.
We are especially interested in hearing from anyone with a disability who has voted at a Hounslow polling station. We want to help everyone to vote in person.
