Inwood Road car park back in business
Hounslow’s Inwood Road car park, which was closed at the beginning of July for a major makeover, re-opens this week with a new look.
The work has included resurfacing the car park with new road markings and a completely new look and feel.
Inwood Road car park is a convenient parking place for people using Hounslow Town Centre. The improvements that have taken place are part of a wider programme to update Council-owned car parks across the borough, with more improvements to Inwood Road planned for the future.
Family Hub Fun Day

Come to Old Isleworthians, TW7 5ED, on Thursday, 8 August at 12pm - 3pm for a fun day hosted by Hounslow Family Hubs.
Families can get free information or support from the Council and its partners, while children and young people aged 0-19, or up to 25 with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), can enjoy a wide range of outdoor activities.

GP surgeries open despite collective action

Some GP services in Hounslow may experience disruptions due to collective action by members of the British Medical Association (BMA), which is set to continue until further notice.
The NHS is encouraging patients to still come forward for care as GP practices will remain open, and you should be able to book appointments. Your GP practice should inform you if there is any change to your appointment.

Hounslow Storytelling Festival
Come to a storytelling festival across August and September, where residents and visitors of all ages will enjoy activities and events such as The Poetry Takeaway at Chiswick Flower Market on Sunday, 4 August, a family-friendly show at Boston Manor House on Saturday and Sunday, 3-4 August and 10-11 August, and much more.
Part of the Council’s Summer of Culture programme, the festival encompasses a diversity of storytelling from across the world including Japan, Ireland and Sierra Leone.
Over £500 of prizes up for grabs in BetterPoints Olympics challenge
It's not too late to join 'Team BP' and take part in special, Olympic-themed challenges with BetterPoints, while getting fit and winning prizes.
There is a pool of prizes on offer between now and Sunday, 11 August with a total value of over £500. To take part, download the BetterPoints app and register an account with a Hounslow postcode, or enter the code 'paris2024' if you commute to Hounslow regularly from another borough.
Acrobatic dance on Bell Square

On Saturday, 3 August, Le Grand Jeté – Répliques will perform live at Hounslow's Bell Square from 1pm to 3pm.
The performers will show audiences of all ages how movement and gesture can be performed in a dance battle. This is a free performance.

Renew or apply for your childcare support code
Eligible working families with children aged nine months to five years must renew, or apply for, their childcare support code by the closing date of Saturday, 31 August 2024.

South Asian 'Rhythm and Sound'
To mark the end of South Asian Heritage month, the Council's brand-new event 'Rhythm and Sound: A Taste of South Asia' will take place on Saturday, 17 August at Lampton Park, TW3 4LD between 2pm and 6pm.
This is a free event showcasing music, food, arts and crafts by South Asian talent and entrepreneurs from the borough. All are welcome.
'Learn Hounslow' advanced qualification courses

To support residents to 'learn at the next level' as part of their professional career development, Learn Hounslow is offering free, advanced qualification courses in September for those who wish to study at this level for the first time.
The courses are; Level 3 Awards for The Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) Accounting, Understanding Autism, Support in Teaching and Learning, and a new course on Preparing to Work in Home-based Childcare.

Super Sports Day
To celebrate the Olympics, Hounslow's Super Sports Day will take place on Saturday, 24 August at Heston Park, TW5 0LG, between 11am and 4pm.
The day will be filled with fun games and activities, as well as taster sessions for sports. Residents can also meet fitness and health providers and enter some retro races to keep up the competitive spirit. Healthy refreshments will be available, so join us and help get Hounslow fit.
