Mind Axis are currently designing The Teashop+, a new group-based mental wellbeing programme with a digital component, which will be launching in Hounslow this autumn. To ensure they are creating a programme for community members, they are running a series of workshops where they will co-design The Teashop+ with residents.
The workshops will take place in Holborn throughout the summer, and attendees will be paid for their time. The workshops are open to everyone, but Mind Axis would particularly like to hear from residents with lived experience of mental health issues and/or those close to someone who has experienced psychological distress.

The dates of the courses are:
- Monday and Tuesday, 29 and 30 July
- Thursday and Friday, 15 and 16 August
- Thursday and Friday, 29 and 30 August

Hounslow libraries have teamed up with librarians across the capital to launch a new app that takes inspiration from the Couch to 5k fitness plan to get people reading more.
Developed by London Libraries - the London network of national library charity Libraries Connected - and aimed at Londoners who would like to read more, Read On is a digital gateway to a universe of books.
Read On has been launched just in time for the summer holidays in the hope the app can turn the traditional “beach read” into a year-round habit, with all the benefits that brings: research has shown that reading for pleasure can reduce feelings of stress and depression, increase self-esteem and improve our ability to cope with difficult situations. Adults who read for just 30 minutes a week are 20% more likely to report greater life satisfaction.
Residents can download the iOS and Android app directly and start working towards their reading goals straight away.

Construction company Kier has delivered a careers workshop to Marjory Kinnon in Bedfont, as part of its new education programme, ‘Kierriculum’.
The team from Kier attended Marjory Kinnon, one of the largest SEND schools in the country, to work with Year 11 students to challenge some of the stereotypes about people and careers available in in the construction industry.
The one-day session was delivered as part of the new Kierriculum programme, a new range of educational resources designed to address the skills’ shortage in the construction sector and encourage young people to consider a career in the industry.
Later this year, Marjory Kinnon students will have the opportunity to take part in a full six-week Kierriculum programme, where students will also get the opportunity to visit live construction sites.

Hounslow Council is seeking the views of residents on a proposed footway accessibility improvement scheme around The Ham in Brentford.
The footways on The Ham are narrow and in poor condition. There are also obstructions on the footways in the form of kerbs and street furniture.
The Council is proposing a range of measures to improve accessibility in the area, including resurfacing the footways, a new crossing point and relocating the street furniture.
Residents can view the plans and have their say on the proposals at an upcoming engagement event:
Thursday, 25 July at Digitial Dock, 205 High Street, Brentford, TW8 8AH, between 12pm and 4pm.
There will then be a residents’ feedback event at The Six Bells Pub, High Street, Brentford on Tuesday, 30 July.
