Measles spreads easily and can cause serious illnesses, including pneumonia and meningitis. A rash and high fever could be an indication of measles, so if you have suspicions see a doctor straight away.
If your children have not had the MMR vaccine, you should get them immunised as soon as possible. The vaccine is safe and effective, protecting your child against measles, mumps and rubella. Speak to your GP to get them vaccinated.
Measles can also spread in adults, so you too should get vaccinated. If you come into close contact with someone who has developed measles, then you should seek medical help as your GP can offer you some protection against developing severe illness.
Greening Hounslow Town Centre
The Council is going to deliver new greening in Hounslow Town Centre and needs resident input to shape the design.
In our consultation for the Hounslow Town Centre Vision, the community told us their priority for the Town Centre was more greening.
In response, the Council has partnered with LGLA Projects landscape architects, to engage with the local community to develop proposals for the paved area at the junction of High Street and Hanworth Road. We want to work with you to design a greener, more welcoming and attractive space that to greet visitors to the High Street.
The landscape architects will be at the site on Monday, 15 July and Friday, 19 July from 1-5pm to talk with local businesses and passers-by about the potential opportunities. Please drop by and let us know your thoughts.
