A Guide to Adult Social Care in Hounslow is a booklet that gives a general overview of what care and support services are available, who is eligible for them and how to access them. It has recently been updated and copies are available now.

Harlington Care have recently taken over the running of two online support groups on behalf of LBH. Both groups run once a month and offer the opportunity to meet people who understand the challenges of caring, can share information and offer mutual support. Both groups regularly invite professionals who can answer questions on specific topics.

The groups meet on Zoom:

Long-term Conditions Support Group

This group is for anyone who supports someone with a chronic condition including dementia, Parkinson's, MS or cancer.

These sessions take place every first Friday of the month, from 1.30pm to 3.30pm

Learning Disability Support Group

This group is for anyone who supports someone with a learning disability, autism, Asperger's or other neurodiverse condition.

These sessions take place every third Monday of the month between 10.30am and 12.30pm

Transit Community Support delivers free courses for unpaid carers on the second and fourth Friday of each month, from 9.30am to 12.30pm at Bridgelink Community Centre in Isleworth TW7 7QR.

Sessions running this month:

• Friday 26 July - Manual Handling (Safe Moving and Handling Principles and Techniques in Care).

Acting on feedback from participants, TCS are allocating a 30 minute slot at the end of all sessions for residents to have a chat, connect with others, access support, get digital support and help with form filling.

The ASC Pop-up information Shop will be out and about over the coming weeks at various events and venues. Come along if you would like an informal chat with a social worker about a specific issue, to ask a question about local services or just pick up a leaflet.  You will find the Shop at the following venues:
