Lift replacement works at Hounslow East Station
Transport for London (TfL) is about to commence works to replace the lifts at Hounslow East Station. The lifts provide step-free access to the Tube and have reached the end of their lifespan.
TfL will start replacing the lifts on Monday, 17 June. It is anticipated that these works could continue until January 2025. TfL have advised that while work is being carried out to the lifts on the westbound platform, passengers will not be able to start or end westbound step-free journeys at Hounslow East. Step-free access will remain on the eastbound platform, and TfL has offered several alternative routes for passengers.
Those who need westbound step-free access at Hounslow East can travel to either Hounslow West or Osterley Stations where there is step-free access, and change to travel to or from Hounslow East.
Anyone who needs help planning their journey can contact TfL’s Customer Services team at tfl.gov.uk/contact or use the TfL online journey planner.

![refill_edited](https://content.govdelivery.com/attachments/fancy_images/UKHOUNSLOW/2024/06/9659860/5515466/refill-edited_crop.jpg) Hounslow, in partnership with City to Sea, has become an official Refill Destination since 2023.
As World Refill Day rolls around again on Sunday, 16 June, there’s no better time to remind residents of what Refill is, and why it’s so important in supporting a cleaner and greener borough.
Residents and businesses are encouraged to move away from single-use plastics, which decreases the plastic pollution footprint and helps the borough become more sustainable.
Residents can download the Refill app to find out the locations of businesses and organisations that offer refills, or watch the community stories video that explains the importance of sustainable packaging. Businesses can also sign up to become an official Refill Station and appear on the app.
