The Council invites residents who served in the Armed Forces to come together at its free Veterans’ Café events, of which the D-Day commemoration was one. The cafés offer free refreshments and visits from Armed Forces personnel. Veterans can also pop in to find out about support available to them.
Mary, the wife of one of our veterans, read a poem to the group. People also took time to remember those who served, including the fallen and their sacrifice, during World War Two.
Keen green volunteers
Charlotte, one of the founders of the successful Chiswick Repair Café, which returns on Saturday, 15 June, has always had a green edge, after meeting likeminded people also doing their bit on a voluntary basis.
