Help to prevent falls at home
![Falls at home](https://content.govdelivery.com/attachments/fancy_images/UKHOUNSLOW/2024/05/9477786/5448716/istock-1324997993_crop.jpg) Each year, around one in three people over the age of 65 has a fall resulting in significant injury. Falls are not an inevitable part of growing older, and there are lots of things you can do to help reduce the risk of falling.
The Home Safety Team (HST) can carry out assessments to identify risks and hazards at home which may cause a slip, trip, or fall. The assessment is carried out using a multifactorial assessment tool that allows HST to identify factors relating to the resident and the environment they live in, which can often be the cause of falling.
To find out more, please contact the Falls Prevention Manager for Hounslow on 020 8583 3038, or email Home.Safety@hounslow.gov.uk.
