Swap 'til you drop at Heston Community Centre
![swappy](https://content.govdelivery.com/attachments/fancy_images/UKHOUNSLOW/2024/04/9345002/swappy_original.jpg) Swappy is a Heston in the Loop event for Hounslow parents and children to exchange books and toys, socialise, and enjoy refreshments.
Taking place at Heston Community Centre (TW5 0EE), parents can drop off items and collect tokens on Friday, 26 April between 9am and 11am and 3pm to 5pm.
The full event will take place on Saturday, 27 April between midday and 2pm.
The idea is simple: bring along your pre-loved toys or books, for which you’ll receive tokens, and then exchange those tokens for other second-hand books and toys at the Saturday event.
Only bring items you're willing to donate, as it can't be guaranteed there will be something you desire in exchange, and refunds are not available. Residents can bring a maximum of three items.

Nordic knowledge sharing for local police
We were proud to welcome representatives from the Norwegian police yesterday, along with our hosts at the Hounslow Jamia Masjid and local Met Police officers.
The Nordic police spoke about fostering strong relationships within local communities, and how to better support people and build resilience. They also developed a deeper understanding of Council expertise in Prevent and cohesion workstreams.
When comparing notes, local police colleagues were of the opinion that the experiences of Norwegian colleagues were very similar to theirs when addressing issues pertaining to protests, diversity, culture, immigration, extremism and terrorism and that the level of action taken varied depending on the awareness of officers.
The Police officers are based in Oslo, and it's our fifth year of hosting our friends from Scandinavia.
