![Pharmacy first nightime](https://content.govdelivery.com/attachments/fancy_images/UKHOUNSLOW/2024/02/9052713/5282573/2024-02-07-nhs-pharmacy-socialstatics-insectbite-16_crop.jpg) Pharmacies across Hounslow can now provide treatment for common health conditions, with no GP appointment or prescription needed.
Highly trained pharmacists can assess and treat patients for seven common health conditions: sinusitis; sore throat; earache; infected insect bite; impetigo; shingles; and uncomplicated urinary tract infections in women, without the need for a GP appointment or prescription.
This major expansion of pharmacy services gives residents more choice when it comes to where and how they access care, while also freeing up millions of GP appointments each year. In north west London, 95% of pharmacies are offering these additional services.
Support for mums-to-be and young families

It dispels some myths around the role of health visitors that lead to some young parents feeling hesitant about engaging with the service. It stresses that health visitors are always there to help you, never to judge you or your parenting.
New parents can get help with a range of issues including: feeding your baby and introducing solid foods, sleep difficulties, crying babies, and attachment.
There is also support for young mums who may be experiencing postnatal depression or anxiety around any aspect of parenting.
