Supporting pregnant people and young families

It dispels some myths around the role of health visitors that lead to some young parents feeling nervous about engaging with the service. It stresses that health visitors are always there to help you, never to judge you or your parenting.
New parents can get help with a range of issues including: feeding your baby and introducing solid foods, sleep difficulties, crying babies, and attachment.
There is also support for young mums who may be experiencing postnatal depression or anxiety around any aspect of parenting.

Create an action plan to help prevent falls
As we grow older, the risk of falls increases. Thankfully, there are many things that we can do to keep ourselves fit and healthy and prevent falls before they happen.
It's also useful to identify your own personal risks so that you can create a tailored action plan to prevent falls.
It's a great way to understand your own body, work out how to strengthen key areas, and access support should you need it.

Stretch your legs this February
It can be hard to get outside, put in some steps and fill your lungs with fresh air during the winter months.
Thankfully, there's a series of great outdoors events throughout February where you can do all of those things, plus learn more about the nature on our doorstep.
Let’s Go Outside and Learn introduces people to the natural environment, highlights the benefits that spending time outdoors offers for our health and wellbeing, and brings people together to make new friends.
All the events are free but booking ahead is encouraged to avoid disappointment.
