The Care Quality Commission (CQC), the independent regulator of health and social care services in England, will be conducting an assessment of the council’s services in the coming weeks.
The purpose of this assessment is to evaluate the effectiveness and quality of the services provided by Hounslow Council.
The CQC team has already begun its assessment of Council services. The authority has had to submit lots of documents to the organisation which contain information and evidence about the effectiveness of the services we provide.
The next stage in the process is when the CQC team visits Hounslow during the week beginning Monday, 19 February. The team will speak to social care workers and the Council’s leadership team as well as witness the work of the Adult Social Care services first-hand.
As part of the assessment, the CQC will seek input from residents to gain into the experiences and perspectives of those who use care services provided by Hounslow Council.
You may get contacted by the CQC as part of this process and asked for your views.
Your participation in this assessment is entirely voluntary and any information taken will be done so on an anonymous basis. We would encourage you to consider sharing your views and experiences if you are approached by the CQC.
Your feedback could play a crucial role in helping us to understand what we do well and identify areas where we need to make improvements.

Many of us are affected by the changing seasons, and the colder weather and shorter days may negatively impact our mental health.
To be as prepared as you can for this winter, Hammersmith, Fulham, Ealing and Hounslow Mind (HFEH MIND) have put together some advice for keeping well and warm to help.
The Winter Wellbeing Toolkit provides tips for staying warm, safe and sound during these colder months.
The guide covers everything from how to stay healthy by eating a balanced diet, self-help techniques for managing anxiety, who to turn to for support with financial matters and money worries, plotting your goals and a useful directory of local services.
It’s free to download and makes perfect reading for these cold winter days.
