 Land Management And Arboriculture Bootcamp
 This Green Skills Bootcamp is a free 4-week course, funded through the Mayor of London Skills Bootcamp programme. The training will provide you with the skills and expertise you need to gain employment within the green sector.
Working with the Greater London Authority, Lampton GreenSpace 360, Hounslow Highways, and Maydencroft, London Borough of Hounslow has created a curriculum which covers the fundamentals of land management, including one week of work experience and one week of employability training.
The programme is FREE OF CHARGE to learners. Travel and childcare costs are covered. At the end of the bootcamp, attendees that successfully complete the course will be offered guaranteed interviews with employers who are looking to hire new talent.
Land management offers a wide array of career opportunities, all of which will give you the opportunity to work outdoors and in a wide variety of locations. From tree planting and aftercare, park maintenance, developing infrastructure and working with ecologists to deliver high quality projects, this bootcamp aims to expose you to a suite of skills, knowledge, and experience.
You are eligible for the bootcamp if you are:
- A Hounslow or Ealing resident
- 19 or over
- Currently unemployed or in receipt of means-tested benefits
Induction, you will be screened for:
- Numeracy Entry Level 2
- Literacy Entry Level 3
- Basic Digital Skills
Industry preferences:

Driving licence – highly desirable. One of our employers is based in London Fringe, so a car is essential, for the other, having the ability to drive is highly preferential. All employers require you to have the ability to learn to drive and operate heavy machinery.

Working full time – highly desirable. None of our employers can accommodate shorter hours but might be able to accommodate job shares.

Working outdoors – necessary. This comes with the job, as you will be working outside once the course is completed
What support will you receive?
Throughout the duration of the course, we will:
- Provide you with a free London travelcard (London Zones 2-6) to travel to and from the classroom and work experience locations
- Cover the cost of any childcare needed during course hours.
- Offer you 1:1 career and employment support to guide you through the course.
The course will start on 19 Feb 2024 and will last for four weeks. It will be delivered at London Borough of Hounslow’s Adult Education classrooms and run from Monday to Friday between 10am and 2pm.
