![Area Forums](https://content.govdelivery.com/attachments/fancy_images/UKHOUNSLOW/2023/03/7254716/4611291/area-forum_crop.jpg) Area Forums return this month, kicking off at Chiswick Town Hall on Tuesday, 14 March, at 6.30pm. Residents will have the chance to meet their councillors and local community groups such as Chiswick Pier Trust and Move Into Wellbeing.
They then move to the Heston Community Centre for the Heston and Cranford forum on Thursday, 16 March, from 6pm. Residents can have their say and meet local councillors and community groups including C-Change West London, Heston West Big Local and Let’s Go Outside and Learn.
The final forum of the month is on Thursday, 23 March, at the Feltham Assembly Hall, with an earlier start of 5pm.
Groups that will be present include Age UK and Reach Foundation, plus key Council teams from Community Solutions to Fostering and Highways. Residents can also enjoy a performance from the Feltham Community Choir at 5.45pm.
Vegetarian/vegan and halal food will be available, with a break from 6-7pm for Iftar - prayer space/mats are available - the formal agenda will follow from 7pm.
The government has announced details of when the next round of cost of living support payments will begin.
The £900 cost of living payment for people on means-tested benefits, will start to go directly into bank accounts in the Spring.
Benefits claimants, including people on Universal Credit, Pension Credits and Tax Credits, will receive the money in three payments over the financial year.
There will also be a separate payment of £150 for disabled people and an extra £300 for pensioners to top up their Winter Fuel Payments.

That's the message for anyone in Hounslow who is struggling with mental health issues and may be reaching crisis point.
The Hounslow Safe Space Helpline provides specialist mental health support to anyone in Hounslow aged 18 and over. It is supported by Hounslow Council and run by the mental health charity Mind.
The service offers emotional support, guidance and information on how to access services that can help improve your mental health.
You can call Safe Space between 11am and 11pm every day of the year on 020 3475 5185.

This free session is a chance for men to meet and take a walk through this beautiful park and have a chat about anything they want.
The walk takes place between 10am and 12.30pm. The group will meet at the Popes Lane entrance to the park.

Hounslow Council and its partners are working on an action plan to improve air quality in our borough.
We want to hear the views of residents on this important issue to determine how we can all work together for a safer, healthier borough.
The Council is asking residents to take a few minutes to fill in an online survey about their views on air quality in Hounslow. Everyone who completes the survey will be entered into a prize draw with the chance of winning a £50 shopping voucher.

On Thursday, 16 March, the Council will be hosting an Air Quality Workshop for residents at Hounslow House. The session starts at 5pm and will be a chance for everyone to find out more about the action being taken over air quality in Hounslow and to get involved.

![Bowel Screening](https://content.govdelivery.com/attachments/fancy_images/UKHOUNSLOW/2023/03/7254682/bowel-screening_original.jpg) NHS England is encouraging people who have been sent an NHS bowel cancer screening kit to complete the test.
Detecting bowel cancer at the earliest stage makes you up to nine times more likely to be successfully treated. The NHS is asking everyone who is sent the test to remember to complete it.
The test detects signs of cancer before you notice anything wrong, is simple to complete and can be done in the privacy of your own bathroom. If you’re sent a bowel cancer screening kit, put it by the loo, don’t put it off.
![Youth Games](https://content.govdelivery.com/attachments/fancy_images/UKHOUNSLOW/2023/03/7257234/lyg-netball_original.jpg) The London Youth Games is Europe's largest youth multi-sports competition and offers a fantastic experience for young people in London. The event offers opportunities for young people aged 7 to 18 across London to learn and excel in their field.
The London Youth Games are contested between the 32 London boroughs annually and take place at various venues for nine months of the year.
Approximately 50 events take place annually, including qualifying rounds and standalone finals at venues including The Olympic Park and Aquatics Centre.
The main competition includes 31 different sports and 90 different disciplines. Every London borough is invited to compete, so come along, get involved and represent.
Netball is the first open trial in the borough where people can put themselves forward. Trials are being held on 23 and 30 March at the Osterley Sports and Athletics Centre at Isleworth from 5.30pm-7.20pm.
Teams and individuals in school years seven to nine are welcome to the trials.

The Harrow Carers' Service is available to anyone in Hounslow who supports someone who is ill, frail, disabled, has a mental health issue or addiction and cannot manage without your help.
The service can assist with a range of issues including benefits applications and form-filling, blue badge applications, employment opportunities, wellbeing advice and how to manage stress.
The Harrow Carers' Service is free to all unpaid carers in the borough and operates Monday to Friday between 10am and 2pm.

![New HOT bus](https://content.govdelivery.com/attachments/fancy_images/UKHOUNSLOW/2022/12/6826183/new-hot-bus_original.jpg) Hounslow's Health Outreach Team (HOT) is out and about in the borough, supporting residents with their health needs.
The joint NHS and Council team is staffed by healthcare and engagement personnel, utilising the broad range of skills available within Primary Care Networks and the Council, including speaking community languages.
The bus offers services such as blood pressure tests and height and weight measurements.
