Why attend?
- Get a head start on understanding the Council’s vision for the future and your role in it
- Find out about our commitment to your development, and our ongoing focus on wellness – to help everyone flourish at work
- Get an insight into our partnerships in the community and how we will work together to make a real difference to improve the lives of residents
- Hear from external speakers to bring new perspectives, best practice insights and thought-provoking challenges
- We’ll also be launching this year’s staff awards!
This exciting conference will feature a wide range of sessions and events on different topics. The 6th floor of Hounslow House will be transformed into a bustling marketplace of events, stalls and talks, and we’ll also be making the most of other spaces in the building.

Lets get real about recycling

|
This week is National Recycling Week - an initiative which is supported each year across Hounslow.
While residents will be encouraged to stand up and take notice of the benefits of recycling for both the borough and globally, colleagues have a part to play too.
Hounslow House offers recycling bins across the building, so you should never be too far from an opportunity to put your waste into the correct bin, and in the process ensuring it has a chance at a new life. Food waste recycling is also now available on all floors too – with green caddies in each kitchen.
The climate crisis is worsened by waste. When we reduce our waste, and increase the amount we recycle, we cut down on our carbon emissions and decrease our carbon footprint. This all helps to protect our planet from climate change and move us closer towards the net zero carbon target by 2030.
Learn more about the numerous benefits of recycling waste: household, garden, electric, and more recycling.

EDI is everyone’s business at Hounslow and in support of this we're asking all colleagues to complete three essential training courses via Learning Pool - Equalities Act 2010, Reasonable Adjustments and Equality Impact Assessments.
A Reasonable Adjustments request form is also now available for staff. This supports the commitment made by CLT and HR earlier this year, following feedback from colleagues, to ensure our people get the adjustments they need to do their job.

Don't forget to keep yourself and others safe by getting your flu and Covid-19 booster shots, if eligible.
Covid cases are on the rise in Hounslow so make sure you are up-to-date with your jabs to help prevent any further spread of the infection. Research shows that immunity to covid-19 decreases over time, so it’s really important to make sure you are fully protected.
Colleagues who work in health and social care and regularly come into contact with customers in care settings are entitled to a free Covid booster shot this autumn - book online or visit one of our pop up locations. Find out more: Covid-19 vaccination services.
All colleagues are also entitled to a free flu vaccination from Boots Chemist. Find out more: Flu vaccination services.
