Future Pathways
Future Pathways is currently driving a big push for signups during November and December 2022.
Future Pathways is a voluntary employment support programme (funded by GLA and ESF) delivered by LBH colleagues that provides individually tailored support for Young Londoners aged 18-24 who are NOT in Employment, Education or Training (NEET) and fall within the below categories:

Heathrow Skill Academy recognise the unique requirements of recruiting for an airport environment. The Academy has been supporting Team Heathrow with their recruitment needs since 2004. They work with over 100 employers at the airport. Covering the broad range of sectors that operate at the airport and from entry level skills through to managerial level. To take pride in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness by adopting our Clean As You Go philosophy (including, but not limited to staff areas, external areas, toilets, bar and glass-wash, customer areas)

Night Sales Assistant at Heathrow Airport
WHSmith are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Night Sales Assistant to join their team at Heathrow Airport. The role requires shift work and there are opportunities for career development with training.
Responsibilities include:
Checking and unpacking deliveries
re-stocking shelves
Implementing new and exciting promotional campaigns
Making sure the store is ready before the doors open for customers in the morning
To always deliver a friendly service, smiling, greeting, and making eye contact with every customer you encounter
Meeting high standards of display and visual merchandising to ensure the store is well presented, accurately following planograms
Targeted on having appropriate Till Point Conversations with every customer to add on sales and increase the average transaction value
Working as an active member of the team, supporting colleagues in all tasks
Demonstrating good product knowledge to customers on key promotions and offers, maximising selling opportunities
Approaching customers that may require assistance if on the shop floor
Skills
Organised; process driven and can use their initiative when needed, they should also be:
- A great listener, good to talk to and naturally helpful

Springboard Charity - Skill Up Step Up
Springboard will be running their final Skill Up Step-Up programme of 2022 on Monday 28th November. This 2-week programme is designed for young people (16-24), interested in jobs in the hospitality industry – there are many opportunities for front and back of house team members, reception, maintenance, housekeeping, admin and so on.
Start date: Monday 28th November
Location: Cooper's Hall 13 Devonshire Square London EC2M 4TH (travel cost will be fully covered by Springboard)
Time: Monday to Friday
What will participants get from it?
- get “work ready” and step up into sustainable jobs or apprenticeships
- Guaranteed job interviews with our employer partners (Hilton, Crown Plaza Docklands, Bidfood UK, The Wolseley Hospitality Group, CH&Co, Nando’s, Compass Group, The East India Club, Wagamama, The Georgian House, and many more.)
- Industry visits of 4* and 5* hotels and restaurants to gain insight into the industry and opportunities they offer

Princes Trust Development Awards
Are you working with a young person who needs financial help for course fee’s tools or equipment or needs help getting to a new job until their first payslip?
The Princes Trust Development Awards can cover the cost of with up to £175-£250 (depending on needs, location, and funding availability) which will be paid directly to an organisation, or the young person will be sent a voucher.
What’s involved?
Aged 16 to 30 and living in the UK
Studying less than 14 hours a week or not in compulsory education
Unemployed or working less than 16 hours a week
Development Awards can support:
Accredited course fees up to Level 3 (A-level equivalent)
Tools, equipment or uniforms for a job or qualification
Job licence fees
Transport to a new job until first pay slip
Development Awards can't support:
Living expenses e.g., rent or bills
Business start-up costs
Costs for items that have already been paid for
Gap year or overseas projects
Level 4 course fees and beyond (i.e., Higher National Certificate or Diploma)

FREE 6 Week Media Training at SKY TV Campus
Applications are still open for the FREE intensive digital media training with the BAFTA winning company, Licklemor Productions. Lunch and travel expenses provided.
The MAMA Youth Project is calling all young creatives resident in Hounslow aged 18-30 with a passion for creating compelling content and a desire for a career in media to apply for this opportunity!
The training is based at the SKY TV Campus, in Osterley, and can grant young people instant industry access while teaching them how to excel in production.
Upon successful completion, trainees will become a MAMA Youth Project Alumni and join the talent pool, providing benefits such as a minimum of 6 months professional Talent Manager support and exclusive access to apply for jobs with a range of industry partners, such as Sky, Netflix, Banijay, Warner Bros Entertainment, ITV, Banijay and many more.

Work Hounslow Drop in Sessions this Week
Work Hounslow run drop in sessions across Hounslow for residents who are unemployed, in low paid work and seeking work, training or upskilling opportunities.
The drop-in sessions will allow residents to have a one-to-one conversation with an Employment Adviser for information, advice and guidance.
Work Hounslow Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) Driver Information Session
Work Hounslow is working with HGVC training to deliver a 16-week training course. Through their exclusive partnership, Work Hounslow will be helping residents become job ready ensuring their success in a career as an HGV driver.
Eligibility:
Must be a Hounslow resident
Must possess a Class B Licence.

Apprenticeships
Health Care Pre-Apprenticeship Programme
Are you working with a young person interested in working in social care and health sectors? Who want to earn a recognised qualification - (and the Care Certificate)? This free two-week pre apprenticeship programme will give young people the opportunity to gain a health and social care qualification. Young people will have the opportunity to learn through site visits and staff insights into key roles including:
- Health Care Associate
- Registered Nurse
Introduction to key staff (Hiring Team)
After completion of the course all candidates will have the opportunity to attend interviews at West Middlesex hospital.
Eligibility
- Aged 18+ with the right to work in the UK
- If 18-24 years old, in work or unemployed AND in receipt of a means tested benefit e.g., Universal Credit, Housing Benefit
- If 25+, in work or Unemployed for fewer than 18 months AND in receipt of a means tested benefit e.g., Universal Credit, Housing Benefit.

Are you working with a young person who would like to become an Electrician?
The electrical industry is leading the way in low carbon revolution. The design and installation of smart homes and buildings, and the growth in solar panels and electric vehicles means there are exciting career options for those who want to be part of the green agenda. However, the electrical training landscape is changing and it’s important to be fully aware of the career options for both school/college leavers and career changers.
This year a new apprenticeship option – Domestic Electrician – will launch, joining the existing Installation Electrician apprenticeship.

Scope are offering a range of online and offline employment support for working- age disabled people. Registering and taking part in an employment programme with Scope also gives access to their jobs board that advertises current vacancies from Disability Confident Employers.
Career Pathways
Offers careers guidance to young disabled people aged between 15 and 25.
Up to 3 sessions with a dedicated careers adviser who will work with young people to:

help identify their options
- develop their career goals
- create an action plan
Kickstart
One-to-one employment service support for anyone who is disabled or has a health condition.
Meeting with a dedicated adviser every 2 weeks for up to 6 months.
Support with:
- CV writing
- job search
- applications
- interview skills, including mock interviews
- reasonable adjustments
- how to talk about disability or your condition to an employer
If required, they can also offer:
- some in work support
- better off calculations
Starting Line
This employment service is for disabled people at the start of their journey into employment.

Amplified Arts Academy – free performing arts training offered to care experienced young people
Amplified Arts Academy (AMP) would like to support care experienced young people by offering free access to places in their performing arts classes.
AMP classes enable students to learn and develop new skills, find and foster connection with their peers, and benefit from the expertise of their industry-leading teachers.
They offer AMP classes in ACT, DANCE, DRUMS, KEYS, GUITARS and VOCALS.
