Thanks for sticking with us! Take care of yourself and others

Yesterday, the Prime Minister confirmed that many of the restrictions currently in place from the roadmap would be lifted next week on 19 July.

This includes some social-distancing rules, restrictions around events and travel, more information on which is available on GOV.UK here.

It's important that we keep ourselves and each other safe. Continue to get vaccinated, get tested, and social distance as you see appropriate.

From next week, we will no longer be sending out this bulletin.

Instead, you can find all our COVID-19 updates online at hounslow.gov.uk/coronavirus or in our weekly Hounslow Matters newsletter, sent out every Friday.

Second doses will be administered in line with national guidance (current advice 8 weeks minimum gap)

As restrictions lift, getting a vaccine is one of the best ways we can protect ourselves and each other from the worst effects of the coronavirus.

How to access your FREE rapid test

We’re going to be making some changes to how you can access FREE rapid testing if you don’t have COVID-19 symptoms.

To stay up to date, please continue to keep an eye on our website, our Twitter page or our Facebook page for more information. We will also be including details in our Hounslow Matters newsletter which you can sign up to here.

For now, you can still get your FREE rapid test at:

• Heston Library – New Heston Road, Hounslow TW5 0LW – Open 6.30am-7.30pm Mon-Fri, or 8.00am-4.00pm Sat/Sun
• Hounslow House – 7 Bath Road, Hounslow TW3 3EB – Open 8.00am-4.00pm, Mon-Sun

• Collect up to 2 packs of 7 tests to do at home: find a pharmacy where you can collect rapid tests

If you are aged 18 or over, are clinically vulnerable, a frontline worker or a carer, you can now book your COVID-19 vaccination through the NHS website even if you haven’t yet received a letter. Appointments are available at sites across the Borough and also Ealing, Wembley and Hammersmith.

We are aware of other scam messages circulating – please ignore them. The NHS will never ask you for money or your bank details for your vaccination – it is free. 

COVID-19 vaccines are being offered to:

• people aged 18 and over
• people who will turn 18 before 1 July 2021
• people at high risk from COVID-19 (clinically extremely vulnerable)
• people with a condition that puts them at higher risk (clinically vulnerable)
• people with a learning disability
• people who live or work in care homes
• health and social care workers
• people who are a main carer for someone at high risk from COVID-19

You'll be contacted by the NHS when you're eligible.

You do not need to wait to be contacted if you're in a group listed above. You may be able to book your COVID-19 vaccination appointments online now.

If you did not book when you were contacted, you're still eligible and can book your appointments anytime.
