Hounslow Community Hub launched
Hounslow Council has launched a Community Support Hub to ensure our most vulnerable residents get the support and help they need throughout the coronavirus pandemic.
The priority of the Hub for now is to protect the most isolated and vulnerable individuals identified and contacted by the NHS to be ‘shielded’. These residents have serious long-term health conditions and it is vital that we ensure there are support networks in place to make sure they’re looked after. The Hub is also there for anyone else vulnerable and isolated who may not have been contacted by the NHS.
Working with voluntary and community partners, businesses and local volunteers, the Hub will connect people with each other and ensure food, supplies and other support reaches those most in need.

The Hub is also the place for people, community groups and businesses to volunteer to help, and there’s an online form to register.

Update on parking permits
In line with government guidelines, our parking restrictions and controls currently remain in place and enforcement activity is continuing. However, we recognise that the current situation requires flexibility on our part and have introduced the following changes to our normal arrangements.

Additional temporary resident permits are available for purchase if permit holders have additional family members or carers temporarily living with them for extended periods. This is also available for those that didn’t previously require an annual parking permit but do at the current time. This is being priced pro-rata at £27/ 4 months. This is cheaper then providing visitor permits over a longer period. The same rules apply for this permit as would for a normal residents permit, you have to be a resident in the borough and live in a CPZ. Proof of residency and vehicle ownership (further information HERE on what proofs are accepted ) should be emailed to parking.permits@hounslow.gov.uk. You will then be contacted to arrange payment.

The number of visitor permits residents can purchase has been increased to 25 booklets.

The commencement date for the new Thornbury Avenue CPZ (extension) and Ridgeway Road CPZ is being delayed until further notice. All residents affected will receive confirmation of this shortly, and we will write to them again once a new commencement date has been agreed.

Parks and Green Spaces
Hounslow’s parks and green spaces are much loved, and we want to keep them open so people can enjoy them for a walk or exercise during these challenging times. However, to ensure they can stay open for everyone to use, people must follow the Government’s rules to stop the spread of coronavirus. If people are inconsiderate and ignore these rules and put others at risk, Hounslow, like some other London boroughs, will be forced to close them.
This means one form of exercise a day, for example a run, walk, or cycle – alone or with members of their household. And even when doing this, people should be minimising time spent outside of the home and ensuring they are two metres apart from anyone outside of their household. Stay home, save lives and protect our NHS
 Road Safety GB is urging all road users to do their bit to reduce the strain on the emergency services in the coming weeks and months, by taking extra care every time they travel. On average 70 people per day were seriously injured (25,511) in 2019 – all of whom would have required hospital treatment. We can all do our bit to reduce the strain on the NHS through limiting journeys to only essential trips and taking extra care. roadsafetygb.org.uk
Staying Active at Home
We're all now spending a lot more time at home, which is why staying as physically active as possible is more important than ever. Not only does it benefit our physical health it can be great for our mental health too and there are many activities you can do, even in the comfort of your own home. Each day you can still go outside for one form of exercise, such as a walk, a run or a cycle, if you're well enough and as long as you’re on your own, or with members of your household.
The OneYouHounslow service will continue to provide advice and support to keep us all active and healthy at home.
