This email aims to provide you with news on the progress of the Horsham District Local Plan 2023-2040 review.

The Plan will also support the delivery of community infrastructures, transport links and opportunities for local jobs.

Local Plan preparations to date

The Local Plan takes at least two years to make and approve. You can read details on how a Local Plan is made, including a short description of each stage, on our website:

What is a Local Plan and how is it made

The preparation of the Horsham District Local Plan Regulation 19 document has taken account of the outcome of the Issues, Options and preferred options consultations and other more informal forms of consultation such as Parish workshops, and a number of updates have been made to the Council’s evidence base since 2020.

Neighbourhood plans will continue to be important for local decision-making and some sites are allocated by their parish councils in their Neighbourhood Plans so won’t be listed in the draft Regulation 19 Local Plan.

Together this work has informed the content of the draft Regulation 19 Local Plan.
