Tim's Stop Smoking Story

Tim

"I feel so much healthier now and I am currently training for a 10k run!"

This month we received some wonderful feedback from Tim, who recently quit smoking after 10 years with the support of Wellbeing Advisor, Sallyanne. Here's what he had to say...

"My key motivation for quitting was my family. I have a beautiful wife and three amazing children. I want to be around for as long as possible and I knew that smoking was really going to affect this.

I was on 20 cigarettes a day. I have tried to quit before by vaping and also just stopping, but having no help. I went to meet with Sallyanne, and we discussed my smoking patterns and my triggers. I, like a great deal of smokers very much had a pattern around their smoking. I I would smoke five minutes after waking up, when I got in the car, every couple of hours at work, after meals, when drinking alcohol etc. I never really thought I would be able to do it but with the fantastic support of Sallyanne, I am now over three months smoke free.

Meeting Sallyanne every week is such an important part of the process and really gives you the help and incentive you need to carry on. I did have cravings along the way but never thought I was close to picking up a cigarette again.

I feel so much healthier now and I am currently training for a 10k run in support of Nerve Tumours UK, who help my youngest son Wilbur with his condition.

I would never have been able to do this while I was smoking so I want to thank Sallyanne and her team. They are amazing!"

Well done Tim!
