Get Moving This May
Welcome to your May wellbeing update that's jam-packed with lots of helpful free courses and resources to help you improve your health.
This month is walking month and with the flowers starting to bloom there is no better time to get in your steps and enjoy the health benefits of being active in nature.
Walking Month
Walking is one of the easiest ways to improve physical and mental health. And by swapping a short drive for a short walk, you can also help reduce air pollution, congestion, save some money and stay active in the process!
Did you know that a 20-minute walk can reduce the risk of several preventable health conditions, including certain cancers, depression, heart disease and Type 2 diabetes?
Living Streets are a charity who hope to make walking the natural choice for everyday journeys. They have put together 20 tips to help you fit 20 minutes of walking into your day. Why not take part in the #TRY20 checklist this May.

Wellbeing Walks
Our popular guided walks are a great way to see more of the district, increase your activity and meet new people. Volunteer Walk Leaders offer walks across the district every day, covering a range of distances come rain or shine! There is no need to book ahead, just look for the meeting time and place on the timetable and turn up with your walking shoes.
