Walking Month

Walking is one of the easiest ways to improve physical and mental health. And by swapping a short drive for a short walk, you can also help reduce air pollution, congestion, save some money and stay active in the process!

Did you know that a 20-minute walk can reduce the risk of several preventable health conditions, including certain cancers, depression, heart disease and Type 2 diabetes?

Living Streets are a charity who hope to make walking the natural choice for everyday journeys. They have put together 20 tips to help you fit 20 minutes of walking into your day. Why not take part in the #TRY20 checklist this May.

Salt awareness week

Salt Awareness Week

Three quarters of the salt the UK consumes each day is already packaged in prepared foods. From sliced bread to biscuits, takeaways to ‘healthy’ salads, everything has added salt!

Preparing meals and snacks from scratch will help you to avoid the salt trap. Try swapping crisps for nuts and season food with herbs instead of salt for quick wins.
