As winter begins to leave us and the days grow longer, making the smallest of steps towards a better wellbeing is more achievable and sets realistic goals. 

Whether it's signing up to a course, kicking a lifelong habit or coming along to one of our talks, we're here to support you on your journey.

Let's Talk About Sleep

This short talk will look at factors affecting sleep and highlight the reasons why we are finding it difficult to fall asleep and stay asleep through the night. We will show you how to work out your best sleep time and figure out what type of sleeper you are and how many hours you really need.

High Cholesterol Talk

Worried about your cholesterol? Then come along to our friendly and informal group talk. 

The talk aims to give you the knowledge and guidance to show how a few small steps can improve your cholesterol levels and your overall general health.

Our Emotional Eating and Unhealthy Behaviours workshop focuses on identifying the reasons for emotional eating, triggers and barriers, and what steps you can put in place to overcome these challenges.

Pre diabetes talk

Pre-diabetes Workshop

Our pre-diabetes programme aims to help prevent the onset of Type 2 diabetes by reducing the risks and allowing people to take more control. The session helps people set small, manageable goals to help avoid developing Type 2 diabetes. Diet, physical activity and other lifestyle factors are the main focus.

New to exercise but don't know where to start?

Our 10 week Get Active courses starting in April, are aimed at people who want to take their first steps to getting active and are delivered by friendly, qualified and experienced instructors.

A fun choreographed energising traditional aerobic Legs Bums Tums class with some strength and toning work. Learn easy-to-follow routines, get fitter, tone, release stress and have fun. Low and high impact options included so class suits everyone.

A fun and friendly aerobic and strength class with the older body in mind. It’s a workout routine that has the power to help prevent injury and illness, keep you independent, alleviate stress and get you feeling strong and healthy.

Learn To Run

A step-by-step course for beginners aiming to help you go from walking to jogging over a 10 week period. 

The course is for people who aren't already active and need a little help to get started. We encourage everyone to go at their own pace.

No Smoking Day is to campaign for greater awareness about the health dangers associated with smoking with the theme of “Don’t give up on giving up. Every time you try to stop smoking, you’re a step closer to success.”

You are three times more likely to be a successful quitter if you have professional support compared to trying alone. Our trained advisors can offer you this support, which includes regular appointments as well as providing you with the Nicotine Replacement Therapy products to help you quit.

Prostate Cancer UK Awareness Campaign

Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men but it is very treatable if caught early - early diagnosis saves lives.

It’s important for men to know their risk because early prostate cancer often has no symptoms. Prostate Cancer UK is encouraging men to check their risk using a risk checker which takes just 30 seconds to complete.

Top tips to get your five-a-day

Tip no 2 - Eat the colours of the rainbow

Different coloured fruits and vegetables contain their own combination of vitamins, minerals and fibre. Try to eat one portion from each colour group to get the most benefit.
