Update to OFSI's Guide to Financial Sanctions – Travel to the UK

The Office of Financial Sanctions Implementation (OFSI) has updated its guide to financial sanctions to include a section on ‘Travel to the UK’.

This makes clear that OFSI expects all designated persons planning to visit the UK to possess an appropriate licence for them to support themselves legally while in the country.

The requirement to obtain a licence before travelling also applies to non-designated persons visiting the UK who are being funded, in whole or part, by a designated person.

Applications for a licence should be made at least four weeks before travelling or applying for a visa, whichever is sooner.
