New Years Honours Lists 2024
Congratulations to HMCTS staff who received a 2024 New Year Honour in recognition of making a significant impact in delivering justice.
Thank you for your hard work and continued commitment to justice.
New guide available for public access to hearings
We’ve published a new guide about attending or accessing court and tribunal hearings.
The guide explains the different types of courts and tribunals, how to observe a hearing, which areas of the site are open to the public and what to expect at the hearing.
Inside HMCTS Podcast episode two
We’ve released our latest Inside HMCTS Podcast episode, which focusses on how we’re making courts and tribunals more accessible for neurodivergent people.
You can hear from Nicky Reynolds, the Deputy Director of the Future Hearings Programme and Adam Micklewaithe, Director of Autism Alliance as they explore the broader landscape of neurodivergence and the need for user-centred design in our services.
Sharing our expertise on access to justice on a global stage
Our HMCTS Head of Insight, Luc Altmann has published a blog about his recent presentation to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) roundtable on equal access to justice.
At the event in Slovenia, Luc shared a draft toolkit setting out good practice for measuring access to justice in court services, based on our own recently-published assessments.
The final toolkit will be co-authored with the OECD and will create a practical resource for OECD members to measure access to justice in their own countries.
