Pre-recorded evidence
Pre-recorded evidence report on victims experience of court
A report released last week by the Ministry of Justice provides findings from a process evaluation of the implementation of pre-recorded evidence for intimidated witnesses, including survivors of rape and modern slavery.
Through the measure, it's intended that the recording can be presented during the trial without the witness needing to attend and experience fear or distress about testifying.

Direct lodgement of war pensions
Reminder: Lodge notices of appeal to the War Pensions and Armed Forces Compensation Chamber directly with the tribunal
since 6 April 2023, Notices of Appeal to the First-tier Tribunal War Pensions and Armed Forces Compensation Chamber (WPAFCC) can be lodged directly with the Tribunal, which will then be responsible for all case management. This applies to appeals against decisions issued by Veterans UK dated on or after 6 April 2023. Appeals against decisions dated on or before 5 April 2023 must continue to be sent to Veterans UK.
The form can be found on GOV.UK and can be sent to the tribunal by post or email. Anyone who does not have access to the form online can email armedforces.chamber@justice.gov.uk for a hard copy.
If you have any queries regarding the new form and rules, contact armedforces.chamber@justice.gov.uk.
