Here’s our latest update on the work we’ve got planned on the A12 this week.

Please note that these dates are subject to change at short notice due to unforeseen circumstances or poor weather conditions.

Work underway:

A12 Margaretting Bypass junctions 13 to 15 – Saturday 1 April 2023

We’re rebuilding the A12 Margaretting Bypass between junctions 13 and 15.

Junction 16 to 13 southbound will be closed overnight on Saturday between 8pm and 6am.

A12 Chelmsford to A120 widening scheme – Wednesday 29 to Friday 31 March 2023

We’re widening the A12 between junction 19 and 25 to ease congestion and cope with increasing traffic demands.

Wednesday 29 March (9pm to 6am)

• Southbound lane 2 closed between junction 23 and 21
• Northbound lane 1 closed between junction 20a and 21

Thursday 30 March (9pm to 6am)

• Southbound lane 2 closed between junction 23 and 21
• A130 lane closed and ring management at Boreham interchange
• 2-Way traffic signals off Boreham interchange on Winsford and Drover Way

Friday 31 March (9pm to 6am)

• Southbound lane 2 closed between junction 22 and 20a
• A130 lane closed and ring management at Boreham interchange
• 2-Way traffic Signals off Boreham interchange on Winsford and Drover Way

A120 Stanstead to Braintree – until Wednesday 29 March 2023

We’re carrying out essential resurfacing work and safety barrier renewal on the A120 between Stansted and Braintree.

A120 Dunmow West Interchange to M11 junction 8 westbound will continue to be closed until Wednesday, between 8pm and 6am.

A12 junction 25 Marks Tey concrete roads reconstruction – until Monday 15 April 2023

We're reconstructing the A12 between junctions 25 (Marks Tey) and 26 (Stanway).

• The A12 northbound carriageway at junction 25 Marks Tey will be closed overnight on Wednesday 29 March, from 9pm until 5am.
• The northbound exit slip road at junction 26 Stanway will continue to be closed until Saturday 15 April 2023.

A12 maintenance work between junction 25 and 32 - until Monday 24 April 2023

We’re carrying out a range of maintenance work on the A12 between junction 25 and junction 32.

The Crown Interchange eastbound slip road will be closed from 9pm on Wednesday to 5am on Thursday.

The southbound carriageway from junction 32 to 29 will continue to be closed weeknights only until Monday 24 April 2023, between 9pm and 5am.

• 3-way traffic lights at Bury Lane junction, Station Road, Junction 20B

Tuesday 4 April (9pm to 6am)

• Southbound lane 1 closed between junction 22 and 20a
• Southbound lane 1 and 2 closed between junction 20a and 19

Wednesday 5 April (9pm to 6am)

• Southbound lane 1 closed between junction 25 and 24
• Southbound junction 24 exit slip road closed
• Southbound lane 1 closed between junction 22 and 20a

The northbound exit slip road at junction 26 Stanway will remain closed until Monday 15 April.
