Here’s our latest update on the work we’ve got planned on the A12 this week.

Please note that these dates are subject to change at short notice due to unforeseen circumstances or poor weather conditions.

Work underway:

A12 Margaretting Bypass junctions 13 to 15 – overnight closures from Monday 13 to Saturday 18 March 2023

We’re rebuilding the A12 Margaretting Bypass between junctions 13 and 15.

Junction 13 to 16 northbound will be closed overnight from Monday to Saturday, between 8pm and 6am each night.

A12 Chelmsford to A120 widening scheme – overnight closures from Monday 13 to Friday 17 March 2023

We’re widening the A12 between junction 19 and 25 to ease congestion and cope with increasing traffic demands.

Monday 13 March (9pm to 6am)

• Northbound junction 20B entry slip road closed
• Northbound junction 21 exit slip road closed
• Northbound lane 1 closed between junction 20a and 21
• Northbound lane 1 closed between junction 23 and 25

Tuesday 14 March (9pm to 6am)

• Northbound junction 20B entry slip road closed
• Northbound junction 21 exit slip road closed
• Northbound lane 1 closed between junction 20a and 21

Wednesday 15 March (9pm to 6am)

• Northbound lane 1 closed between junction 18 and 19
• Northbound junction 19 exit slip road closed
• Northbound junction 21 entry slip road closed
• Northbound lane 1 closed between junction 20a and 22

Thursday 16 March 2023 (9pm to 6am)

• Northbound lane 1 closed between junction 20a and 22

Friday 17 March 2023 (9pm to 6am)

• Northbound junction 22 exit slip road closed
• Northbound lane 1 closed between junction 20a and 22
• Northbound junction 22 entry slip road closed

A120 Stanstead to Braintree – overnight closures from Monday 13 to Saturday 18 March 2023

We’re carrying out essential resurfacing work and safety barrier renewal on the A120 between Stansted and Braintree.

Dunmow West Interchange to Panners Interchange eastbound will continue to be closed weeknights until Monday 27 March, between 8pm and 6am.

Dunmow West Interchange to M11 junction 8 westbound will be closed overnight Saturday 18 March, between 8pm and 6am.

A12 junction 25 Marks Tey concrete roads reconstruction - Monday 13 to Friday 17 March 2023

We’re reconstructing the A12 between junctions 25 (Marks Tey) and 26 (Stanway).

• The A12 northbound exit slip road at junction 26 Stanway will continue to be fully closed until Monday 3 April.
• The northbound carriageway at junction 25 Marks Tey will continue to be closed each night between 9pm and 5am.

A12 maintenance work between junction 25 and 32 - overnight closures until Monday 17 April 2023

The southbound carriageway from junction 32 to 29 will continue to be closed weeknights only until Monday 24 April 2023, between 9pm and 5am.
