Here is the latest A12 road closure round-up

Here’s our latest update on the work we’ve got planned on the A12 this week. 

 

Please note that these dates are subject to change at short notice due to unforeseen circumstances or poor weather conditions.  

 

Work underway: 

 

A12 Margaretting Bypass junctions 13 to 15 – Monday 16 until Saturday 21 January 

 

We’re rebuilding the A12 Margaretting Bypass between junctions 13 and 15. 

 

Monday 16 to Friday 20 January 

 

  • The southbound carriageway will be fully closed each evening between junction 13 and 16 from 8pm to 6am 

 

Saturday 21 January 

 

  • The northbound carriageway between junction 13 and 16 will be fully closed from 8pm to 6am 

 

 

 

A12 Chelmsford to A120 widening scheme – Monday 16 until Friday 20 January 2023 

 

We’re widening the A12 between junction 19 and 25 to ease congestion and cope with increasing traffic demands. 

 

Monday 16 January 

 

  • 2-way traffic signals on B1023, Inworth Road Witham from 9:30am to 3:30pm 

 

  • Southbound lane 1 closed between junction 22 and 20a from 9pm to 6am 

 

Tuesday 17 January 

 

  • 2-way traffic signals on B1023, Inworth Road Witham from 9:30am to 3:30pm 

 

  • Southbound lane 1 closed between junction 22 and 20a from 9pm to 6am 

 

Wednesday 18 January 

 

  • Southbound junction 23 entry slip road closed and lane 1 closed between junction 22 and 20a from 9pm to 6am 

 

Thursday 19 January 

 

  • Northbound lane 1 closed between junction 23 and 24, southbound lane 1 closed between junction 24 and 23 and junction 22 and 20a from 9pm to 6am 

 

Friday 20 January 

 

  • Southbound lane 1 closed between junction 22 and 20a from 9pm to 6am 

 

 

 

A120 Stanstead to Braintree – Monday 3 October 2022 until Saturday 21 January 2023 

 

We’re carrying out essential resurfacing work and safety barrier renewal on the A120 between Stansted and Braintree. 

 

Reminder - weeknight closures will continue on A120 Panners Interchange to Dunmow West Interchange westbound between 8pm and 6am, until Saturday 21 January 2023. There will be a diversion route in place via the A131. 

 

 

 

A12 junction 25 Marks Tey concrete roads reconstruction 

 

We're rebuilding the A12 between junctions 25 (Marks Tey) and 26 (Stanway). 

 

The next closures for this project are planned for Spring 2023. The existing contraflow system remains in place to keep the road open, and everyone safe, while we work.

A12 Margaretting Bypass junctions 13 to 15 

 

Monday 23 to Thursday 26 January 

 

  • The southbound carriageway will be fully closed each evening between junction 13 and 16 from 8pm to 6am 

 

Friday 27 January  

 

  • The northbound carriageway will be fully closed between junction 13 and 16 from 8pm to 6am 

 

Saturday 28 January  

 

  • The exit slip road at junction 15 will be fully closed from 8pm to 6am

  • The southbound lane 1 closed between junction 22 and junction 20a will be closed from 9pm to 6am.
