Welcome to our latest update on our proposals to improve the M25 junction 10/A3 Wisley interchange.
What’s been happening?
In October, the Secretary of State for Transport advised us that the deadline for a decision on whether we can continue with our proposals to improve the M25 junction 10/A3 Wisley interchange had been further delayed. In his statement, the Secretary of State shared a new deadline of 12 May 2022, to allow for further consideration of environmental matters.
Our team have been supporting local students
Last week colleagues from our project team spent the afternoon with students from East Surrey College. The College offers full-time and part-time courses as well as Apprenticeships, University Level and new Level 3 T Level qualifications for the Construction and Engineering sector. Our volunteers shared insight into their roles and career pathways, as well information on future employment opportunities.
Jayne Dickinson, Principal & Chief Executive, said: “This event was a great opportunity for our students to engage with employers in these exciting industries that are full of new career opportunities. I’d like to extend my gratitude to National Highways and Balfour Beatty Atkins for dedicating time to speak directly with our students. We are looking forward to further collaborations with these companies to continue building our employer relationships and inspiring our students.”

Jonathan Wade, National Highways Project Manager added “It was great to meet the students and talk to them about the M25 junction 10/A3 Wisley improvement project, and the different roles that make up our team. The students were really engaged, and we were able to share some useful tips to help them start their career pathways.” |
Level 3 Business Student, Elizabeth, said “It was cool to hear about how the digital sector use drones across the country to capture aerial images and videos of the work happening on site.”

What you told us in our recent survey
Thank you to everyone that completed our recent newsletter survey. Your feedback is important to us, and here are some highlights of what you told us:
72% learnt something new about the environmental benefits of the scheme
92% said they found the updates in the newsletters useful
Questions you asked us:
When would our works start? Should our Development Consent Order (DCO) be approved in May 2022 we would look to start work in Autumn 2022 and complete in early 2025.
What will we do to minimise disruption? Before we start work, we will share information on any changes to the road layout and diversion routes on our webpage, social media, at public information events and on the road network.
Where can I find a map of the scheme? On our webpage you will find our virtual information portal which has an interactive map of the scheme.
Reminder on why and how we are improving the M25 Junction 10/A3 Wisley interchange
|
|
Junction 10 is one of the busiest sections of the M25, with almost 300,000 vehicles travelling through it every day. |
Due to the volume of traffic and the resulting queues, this area of our network has a very poor safety record and holds one of the highest collision rates across the National Highways network. Our proposals will reduce delays, smooth traffic flow and create safer journeys for all.
Keeping you informed
You can find out more about our plans and keep up to date with the project on our dedicated webpage: www.highwaysengland.co.uk/m25j10 . There is also the opportunity for you to sign up to updates via the webpage.
If you have any questions, please contact us either by email on M25j10@highwaysengland.co.uk or call 0300 123 5000 and one of the team will be happy to help.
