Here is the latest information on the Travel Alerts

The A52 in Derbyshire is closed in both directions between the M1 J25 (Ilkeston) and the A5111 (Raynesway) due to severe flooding.

Please be aware that the A52 has also been closed from the A511 (Raynesway) into and out of Derby city centre where a local diversion has been installed by Derbyshire Police.

Traffic Officers and contractors are assisting Derbyshire Police in their response and are working to reopen the road as soon as it is safe.

Westbound closure:

Road users are advised to follow the "Hollow Diamond" diversion symbols. From the A52/M1 J25 interchange take the slip road on to the M1 southbound and follow to J24a. Exit the M1 at J24a towards the A50 (westbound). Continue on the A50 (westbound) then follow the slip road on to the A6 (Alvaston Bypass) and continue to the junction with the A5111 until it re-joins the A52.

Eastbound closure:

Road users are advised to follow the "Solid Triangle" diversion symbols. From the A52(T) Spondon Junction, follow the slip road onto the A5111(T) south for approximately 2km. At the roundabout with the A5111(T) and the A6(T), take the A6(T) south and after 3.7km, take the slip road onto the A50(T) east and continue for 6.8km. Take the slip road onto the M1 north and continue the M1 to Junction 25 to re-join the A52(T)

Road users are advised to allow extra time for their journey and please be aware that routes in the vicinity are affected by flooding.
