New images bring scheme to life
New images published as part of the Examination process are bringing the proposed Amesbury to Berwick Down (Stonehenge) scheme to life. The existing A303 in the Stonehenge World Heritage Site will be transformed to a restricted byway, giving pedestrians, cyclists and horse riders improved access through the pre-historic landscape, enhancing their experience. Have a look at the updated images on our interactive map now and get a feel for how our scheme could look.
Environmental information goes digital
We're pleased to introduce our new digital Environmental Statement. Taking the information contained in our more traditional Environmental Statement - already published as part of our DCO application - it's a new and interactive way of exploring the environmental and heritage context of the scheme. It's simple to use and contains maps, reports and images. Take a look here.
Spotlight on the Community Forum
Our Community Forum brings together the A303 Stonehenge project team with communities and groups to share information, discuss local concerns and get involved in wider legacy ambitions. See what members had to say about the Forum in our latest news story.
Scheme progress
Between 21 and 30 August, further Issue Specific Hearings were held in Salisbury as part of the public examination into the scheme proposals. A range of topics were discussed and included cultural heritage, public rights of way, as well as matters relating to flood risk and groundwater protection. Find all the very latest information on the Planning Inspectorate’s website.
In July we were given the go-ahead by the Government to begin the tender process for appointing a contractor to build the scheme. If DCO consent is granted in April 2020 we aim to begin construction work in Autumn 2021.
