A day for the community!

Plaza open day

Plaza prepares for Royal visit

As you are aware, Havant Borough Council is holding a Community Open Day on Tuesday 16 July and local residents and businesses are invited to drop in and check out the facilities on offer at the Public Service Plaza.

We will also be proudly welcoming HRH The Princess Royal who will unveil a plaque to mark the opening of the building.

All councillors are welcome to visit the stands, exhibitions, and indeed their residents as well as to enjoy the community day until 3.15pm. After that time please find Jackie Batchelor or Dawn Adey in the atrium (near the café), who will make sure you are in the correct place for the Royal visit.

HRH Princess Royal is due to arrive at 4.15pm. If you are in the café area you will see her arrive and depart and you will also be able to see her visit the new CAB kiosk which is near reception. If you are in the Event Suite you will be directed where to stand with the exibitors, and will see her as she tours the facilities.

On returning to the atrium, HRH will formally open the Plaza by revealing a plaque fitted to a wall in the atrium lobby.

Don’t forget!

The South car park will be closed at 2pm and will not reopen until 5.30pm. You will be directed to available parking spaces.

From 3.45pm to the time HRH leaves the site, for security reasons, we will not be able to use the main reception doors, which will be held open for the Royal Party only. You can gain access via the side door near the café.

Switch Hampshire

Switch Hampshire gathers power

Many councillors and staff registered with Switch Hampshire, joining over 5,000 residents across Hampshire hoping to save money on their fuel bills with Switch Hampshire.

The hard work is now done and those who have taken part will have received an offer email. If you have been offered a cheaper rate you only have until 15 July to accept.

Pennie Brown, Climate Change Officer, said: "I hope that many of you found a cheaper rate - average figures show that within Havant, a monthly dual fuel direct debit customer can make the largest savings of £81 a year."

There will be another switch later in the year.

Lead Officer:  Pennie Brown, 023 9244 6554.
