Welcome to Next Click Issue 2

Welcome to the second edition of Next Click. In this issue we will provide information about the expansion of Wifi, Heat Tickets, Kahootz and an update on the EHDC IT Rollout.

=============

EHDC IT rollout

Starting on the 22nd April EHDC will commence its rollout of Hantsnet accounts to all staff and councillors. This will be a phased approach with Hampshire IT staff and the Application Specialists from Business Improvement at your side ready to assist.

Schedule

  • On the 24th April phase 1 will start with users who have the Intranet, Agresso and GIS as their primary applications.
  • On the 1st May phase 2 will take place picking up the teams who have Acolaid standard and the National Park system as their primary applications.
  • On the 8th May phase 3 will start with users who have Acolaid Enterprise and Lalpac as their primary applications.
  • Finally on the 15th May phase 4 will start with users who have Civica and Xpress as their primary applications (this will also include the customer services team).
Citrix

What does this mean for me?

This means that you will have a new Hantsnet account allowing you to use the Citrix desktop environment to access all your applications. You will still continue to use your PC at first however, logging into the Citrix desktop environment. Soon after you will move to a “Wyse Winterm”.

Logging into the Citrix desktop is very easy and will be explained to you by Hampshire IT, additionally all staff will be given instructions to assist with logging in and navigating around the new system.

The way you access your emails will remain the same and the intranet will still be your homepage as before, these elements of the IT rollout will not be changing until later.

As the EHDC IT rollout progresses we will move onto other systems such as telephony, printing and email. Each of these systems will be a change for everyone at the same time and will be supported by floor walkers and user guides. These systems will follow the complete rollout of Hantsnet accounts.

HantsIT Helpdesk

If you experience any issues within the new Hantsnet account and Citrix system please direct all queries to the Hampshire IT helpdesk by calling 01962 84700. You will  be asked for your hantsnet userid and a description of the issue.

Collaborate with Kahootz

Kahootz

Some of you may be aware of (or are already using) Kahootz, a new tool currently being piloted by approximately 90 users in the partnership. Kahootz is a cloud based (not on our network) collaborative solution enabling users to work on documents, discuss ideas, quicken the pace of decision making, set tasks and much more. All this can be done from any location using an Internet enabled device (laptop, tablet, Smartphone).

Designed to facilitate partnership working, feedback on the tool so far has been overwhelmingly positive. 90% of respondents to a recent survey agree or strongly agree that Kahootz will benefit them in their work. Whilst our initial contract is only until the end of October, a report will be going to JEB in May to decide on the future rollout of Kahootz.

For more information, please contact James Mackenzie.

GCSx mail routing issues resolved

Following a vigorous investigation into issues where emails from the havant.gov.uk domain to gsi, pnn and gsx.gov.uk domains failed to send, HCC IT have implemented a change resolving this particular issue.

Please therefore be aware that we can now send and reply to emails from our colleagues in central government, police, NHS and the Fire service.

Following the resolution to this issue we will now contact all GCSx account users to check if they still require their accounts.
