Following the announcement from the government today, Havant borough (which includes Hayling Island, Emsworth, Leigh Park and Waterlooville) will move to coronavirus restrictions for TIER 3 – VERY HIGH ALERT from 00.01 on Saturday 19 December.
Around one in three people with coronavirus have no symptoms so could be spreading the virus without realising. We must all take action to protect each other and our hospital capacity.

From 23 to 27 December, you will be able to form a Christmas bubble.
We are at a critical moment in our response to coronavirus. It’s vital we make the right choices to reduce the spread of the virus and save lives.
The government plans to allow families and friends to meet in 'Christmas bubbles' from 23 to 27 December.

If you’re part of a Christmas bubble this year in order to visit family or friends, you’re probably thinking about your travel plans.

The transition period is ending on 31 December and the UK will no longer be part of the EU Customs Union and Single Market. Regardless of whether we reach a free trade agreement with the EU, there will be new rules for businesses from 1 January 2021 which require immediate action.
If you haven’t already, visit www.gov.uk/transition and use the checker tool to quickly identify the actions that your business needs to take.
The census is a survey that happens every 10 years and gives us a picture of all the people and households in England and Wales.
All kinds of organisations, from local authorities to charities, use the information collected to help provide the services we all need, including transport, education and healthcare. Without the census, it would be much more difficult to do this.
By taking part on Sunday 21 March 2021, you’ll be helping make sure you and your community get the services needed now and in the future.
Census 2021 needs at least 30,000 field staff across England and Wales. If you’re a people person, have great customer service skills and want to be part of something that affects all of us, then apply for a job with the census.
The Hampshire Coronavirus Helpline will be running over the Christmas period to provide support for people struggling to cope with the effects of the pandemic.
Whether you need food, medicine or simply someone to talk to, there is someone who can help you over the holiday.
