Work is underway to create Gosport's new 'People's Park' on the waterfront.
It's going to be built on the site of the old bus station, which is currently being knocked down.
After being levelled and cleared, the new park will offer green space, more trees and a new performance space.
We've also submitted a planning application for the second phase of works, which will include space for cafes and bars, accessible public toilets and a new ticket kiosk for Gosport Ferry.
Green light for regeneration of historic Navy Rum Store
The regeneration of the former Royal Navy Rum Store at Victoria Quay is about to begin.
The £22m project, backed by the council, was recently granted planning permission, and the building will become a mixed-use employment space, primarily for maritime businesses, along with retail and leisure, and a rooftop bar.
It's a major part of our wider plans to revitalise and reconnect the town's historic waterfront.
Rowner has been identified in the government's Pride in Place Programme as one of 250 of the most in-need areas of the country to receive up to £20million over the next ten years.
The Pride in Place Programme relies on the power of local people and partnerships, bringing together residents, the local MP, councils, businesses and community organisations to produce a clear vision for their area.
The views of local residents will be key in helping to decide how this funding will be best used to regenerate the Rowner area, look out for further news on this to come.
We're working with local people and partner organisations to promote the national Live Longer Better campaign, helping to change the way we think about ageing.
We’ve worked with Gosport residents to create a leaflet to help kick start the campaign locally. It contains information about the project and useful links to local services.
You are invited to call in and have a chat with our team at the community table in Gosport Discovery Centre (High Street, PO12 1BT) on Wednesday 12 November and Monday 1 December, between 11am-1pm. You can also email us: livelongerbetter@gosport.gov.uk

Gosport has received £750,000 funding from Arts Council England to help celebrate our borough's rich cultural identity and help fund new creative projects.
We are proud to support Gosport Routes - which helps to connect community groups - and which has been awarded the money and will host events and help local artists explore what it means to live, work and create in Gosport.
