Remembrance parade and service

Gosport residents are invited to attend the borough’s Remembrance service, being held this Sunday 10 November at the Gosport War Memorial Hospital.

At 10.30am an armed guard, courtesy of HMS Sultan, will lead a parade of representatives from the Royal British Legion, veterans' groups, scouts, guides, sea cadets, air cadets and other local organisations.

At 10.58am a Remembrance ceremony will be conducted by the Mayor’s Chaplain, Rev Emma McPhail. Gosport Solent Brass will provide music and a bugler from the band will sound Last Post and Reveille.

Following the service a march past will take place in front of the hospital.

Community skips hits 500 tonne milestone

Gosport's free community skips scheme has now collected 500 tonnes of waste. The council scheme, operated by TJ Waste, brings skips to seven locations every other Saturday for residents to dispose of their bulky waste for free. The skips run from 9.30am - 11.30am, commercial waste is not accepted.

Harbourside and Town ward by-election

The Gosport Borough Council by-election for Harbourside and Town ward is being held on Thursday 21 November 2024. The by-election follows the sad death earlier this year of Cllr Alan Durrant, pictured, who had represented the ward since May 2022. Residents living in the Harbourside and Town ward are asked to check their poll card to see where they will need to go on 21 November to cast their vote in the ballot box.
